Its not the destination that is important its the journey.
Hi Folks,
Anybody got any plans for next Sat evening? Anyone feel like comming around to our place afterwards? Crank up the BBQ and burn a bit of steak, few beersand BS? We've just moved so not very organised yet.
BYO meat & drink. Got Sky so you wont miss the S14 semis.
PM me for address. Cheers, Tim.

I'm keen, sounds good. But Rolleston? Will people want to go out that far? Might I suggest my place instead - I live about 2 mins from the venue and have Sky and a BBQ also... just moved in too actually, but it's coming along nicely. Bit scary having just bought our first home, but love it all the same.![]()

Sorry, I won't be able to make it - still haven't gotten my bike fixed, so I've only got the non-motorized variety, which I don't think will cut it.
Maybe next time...![]()

The BBQ idea is a good one. I however have my own personal reservations about leaving the city proper - I don't touch alcohol if I'm going onto the open road.
And honestly - a BBQ without a couple of beers is just WRONG!
And while Rolleston may be only 10 mins from the Hornby - it's 10 minutes in the wrong direction so to speakNot to say I wouldn't ride to Rolleston for a social event - but I'd rather stay in town to be honest.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Not so much that I'd prefer to use my place as such; I just thought that generally KBers might have more reservations about travelling that far (pulling ya leg), as Mikkel quips, in the wrong direction. I'm happy to head out to Rolleston m'self, gives me a chance to open the taps on the Kwaka a bit...
and I'm sure you'll put on a good venue too.
Shall we see what the general consensus is, overall? My place or yours? Actually feel a bit bad for bringing it up - was your idea in the first place, makes it look like I'm stealing your thunder, which was not my intention
Know what you mean... BBQ without beer is definitely leaning on the wrong side of halfway! Either way beer will be on offer, mine or timg's place... but from a legal point of view Mikkel, you'd be over the limit if you had a beer at either venue, open road, schmopen road!
Did I just say 'schmopen'?
Anyone else got a view on where they'd want to go? I'm sure timg's place is nicer than mine, being my first house an' all, though it's by no means a shack, I think it's quite good for a first house. Loads of off street parking, nice quiet neighborhood, generous garage to put the bikes in if it's raining, BBQ area and so on.
