Yep SH3 to Auckland is fun,Mokau,Awakino areas are great from viewpoint of sea views and mountain views,and in my opinion much more pleasant than up the middle of the island.

Sounds like a great trip except for the animals.

You were lucky as I saw a couple of cop cars (parked)going to Stratford in the morning,and a few bikes as well on the road but none ticketed.

The pub justs begs to be visited,hope you remembered the passports,good fundraiser for local community,they should make the jar bigger on the bar.

Weather permitting, next weekend (queen's B-day) i'll was thinking of taking a ride to Napier via Dannevirke, Porongahau, Wiapukarau and out the back way through to Havelock North, maybe have lunch somewhere (Clifton or Napier perhaps) while that's going on I need to catch up with R-Dog if he's going to be around and then back by whichever route.

Speak up if you're keen, join in the fun.
It won't be a time pressured ride other the the start time, key is to enjoy the ride.

Just talked to the better half and seeing as we bloused on the Cold Duck when her parents didn't, shes keen so, assuming we get a new front tyre for her, we will be there. Booking a cabin this morning.

Just heard from him, he's working thursday through to and including sunday.
I'm not sure but I don't think he has another bike yet unless he's staying super quiet about it. He did say that it would'nt bother him if he went bikeless though winter.

I should have included this will probably be sunday but i'm not super set on it, if the weather looks ok saturday but closing in sunday then saturday will obviously be the day to go, try to have things decided by friday luchtime.

Went down and checked out the spot you were talking about and sure enough it was there, existing building but bare from what I could see but the sign is up already.
