    Pukekohe two-hour race?

I read (and have discussed) about a possibility of a 2 hour race at Puke as part of the AMCC club champs this year. Mandatory 2 riders, none of this iron man bullshit.

Should such an event happen, who's gonna be keen?

Speaking to "people in the know", they envisage that the focus will be on FUN, and turning the round into a team event rather than any expectations of televised "Endurance" racing.

    So who's up?

Where the fuck do I sign?

Also, who' be keen on paying the meagre ten bucks entry fee to spectate fora days entertainment?

I wonder who's going to trust their bike to someone else to drop ...

The thing with these races is that if there IS two riders to organise the regs so that the riders do half the race each. As I recall in the 6-hour one year, the guy who won rode the whole thing solo ... and someone else had the second rider on for just a few laps while he had a pee and pie

Yeah I'd turn up to watch, but you know how unreliable I am so I probably wouldn't show.

Dunno about some other dude racing my bike though, however I'd be happy being a No2 rider for someone else.

From a marshalling perspective, its not too different really, still bikes going around and around, with a few falling off

The one thing that does worry me is the difference between classes, ie a superbike closing on an f3 down the back straight. I think we all know what I am thinking of, but this is a concern for me, as I (and I am sure everybody else) does not want to do what we had to do last time, if we can avoid it.

Besides that safety concern, it sounds like all of you guys would enjoy it, so hell, why not?

edit: Ta Jimmy, just ignore us marshalls in the poll eh? I'll remember that the next time I have to pick up your sorry ass

What only 2hours? Yer OK ya racing but couldn't see the need to change rider if it is only 2hours. Fuel ya would unless ya could have a larger tank. Love ta see something more like Le Mans 24-Hour Car Race with bikes though. A real test of man and machine.

Sorry, probably should've clarified. Only F1 and F2 would race together in a 2 hour race. You might have a 20 minute Post Classic race and a half hour each 125 and F3 race for example.

As for others riding your bike, you look at it like this. Ya split the cost 50/50 REGARDLESS of who does what. That way it's equal risk, one rider doesn't stand to lose more than the other.

Sounds cool!! I'd be in if i could fit it in! Any reason why the two riders in each team couldn't ride their own bike? Oh, would this be open to 'real racers' only?

Ya know what--Um having kinda gone down this track.
Theres no reason there couldn't actually be 2x 2 hour races
    As in F1/f2 and F3/125/posty
Basicly ya need 6-7 hours to run 2 races

Oh and also, before I get slagged or asked any questions I know nothing of, I don't speak for the AMCC, all I know is the idea has been floated and they're pretty keen.

What I've posted is simply my understanding of how something could run, not how it will be run.
