Internet got connected in our new place last night

Just heard from my bro that everyone got round in one piece today. Sorry to be the one to let the team down last Sunday. In short: fibula broke, tibia spiral fracture. Now have an internal (don't ask how it got in there ) rod and screws to keep the tibia aligned. Surgeon was ace Did a great job so now looking at 5-6wks no weight on it. In a boot - no cast - so can still bend my knee. Crutches for 10-12wks. Fully healed a few weeks after that. In all the leg's pretty well sorted. Cracked ribs ... eeeooowww!!!!

Bike's with the loss adjuster - no news yet.

Thanks to all for your support before, during and after. I'm still coming to terms with what happened. I'll discuss what I think went wrong (privately for now) but I can tell you the mistake happened well before that corner - about lunch time I reckon and nothing to do with what I ate.

Keen to help out on the 28th provided I'm comfortable on my feet/crutches. Also keen to host anyone that care's to make it out this way. Next few weekends are a bit busy but perhaps after that.

Take care all. Ride your own ride.

good to hear you are on recovery. Dont worry about letting the team down. From where I sit you only let one person down and you have to live with him. At least you can avoid the same situation without spending heaps of money. Yes we did make it round the route toady but I have been in a bad mood all day and not the best mood for riding. Managed to have the rear try to overtake the front on a corner which gave me a attitude readjustment without the pain.

The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

After the last ride I had some idea of the route the ride was going to take but today my whole world has been turned on end. Stop the roundabout I wanna get off.

Looking forward to the actual event after I get my project finished for Chanceyy and figure out where in the wilderness I'll be waiting on the day.

Good to see Dave, Michelle and Carmen doing the 250 brigade proud.

Heated handgrips are they a health hazard? Do they cause mood swings?

Tired of stressful rides? Why not take a Manawatu Weekend Ride tomorrow and meander through rolling countryside at a leisurely relaxed pace.

So long as ya tell the 250 brigade to slow up !! We had to go like cut cats to catch them is all !
Thinking i need to either raise my bars or do some core strengthening excersizes, copping it in the elbow and shoulder at anything under 130 ! But then there is the hard braking 2 up, with a pillion without a grab bar to consider ! H got off the bike complaining of cramps gallore and i'm sure it's cause she's trying to hold herself from crushin my nuts ! Need to find a clever engeneer to make me a grab bar !
Like the idea you had about the 150's though Gary, now that could be a fun ride !

    ..
Just a thought here guys but how long would it take for the 1st group to get from SH2 at Hamua back round into pahiatua ? If required we could go straight from point 3 to point 6 then if the timing allows it again move on to point 10

Edit : no need to worry about 10 as there will be a regroup ! but have a think about us moving from 3 to 6 and if it might work !
