Of course it could also mean that that the men cant be bothered to put in the effort so that the woman get the same self satisfaction as they do.

Men are `programmed' (probably by by evolution) to spread their genes far and wide and are attracted by physical attributes of potential partners; Women to raise young and are attracted to high status material providers.
There is an incredible amount of cross cultural, historical (and anecdotal)evidence for this i.e. they appear to be a universal `truths'.
Incredible that we collectively deny knowledge of this, hence the repeating research.
