why dont we let her decide what to do? afterall she is the victim.

if she is dumb enough to take money instead of pressing charges with somthing this serious, i suspect her moral compass is as fucked up as his.

Yes, if she knocked him down, kicked him in the head causing head injuries, kicked him in the back enough to break it in several places, then paid him to keep quiet about it. Oh and if she was a 'celebrity'. Damn right it would be in the media.

By the way, it was the DomPost that made the allegations about the injuries - I don't know whether the allegations are true but they are likely to have a pretty good source before they publish them.

    Don't you mean 'short poppy'?

Celeb or not, he's a cock for beating up a woman, or anyone else for that matter. One punch/kick/poke I could forgive, not a busted back and head injuries, it sounds like he kicked the crap out of this lady while she was down.

Let's have a go at him shall we?

    Tall poppy..........whatever.

I don't mean the media in general - just the Dominion Post. And the Otago Daily Times. And National Radio. The rest of them are just rubbish, but when one of those three says something, I listen.

You forgot to mention the Marton Monthly, full of life-saving facts.

Just chuck him in jail for half a year or so - I'm sure someone would engage in some Brokeback action on his behalf...

According to the press he had kicked her while she was lying on the bathroom floor. It doesn't matter who you or who your victim are - gender, religious observation, sexual preferences, etc, etc - if you kick someone who's lying down you deserve to be shot, hung or in some other way removed from this existence! It is a cowardly act which demonstrates complete disregard for someone else's life and health. And we're not just talking physical abuse here.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Mate! You are a winner in my books. Well said. I posted that a punch in a fury could be forgiven, not a severe kicking on the floor. What is the delay in having this cock banged up?

Love the Brokeback comment. Bling etc.

Its GBH isn't it? Do him without favour... or a lynch mob. But then won't we have to drag up every other historic case like the good guy Mayor who once beat a pregnant wife? That was a Sunday paper story, totally ignored by the media which so needs B listers to remain on the list here. I'm sure we'd lose half our MPs overnight if a fit and proper test was applied .

When the reports of the assault came out what did our 'hero' do? Apologise straightaway to everyone involved? Hand himself into police? No, he went and saw a lawyer. He said nothing for days until a carefully prepared speech was read out to the media.

If the media reports are correct that says a lot about the type of man he is.

Very true. This - the crime defining the charge - is an important principle to uphold otherwise $$$ can buy immunity.
