What pisses me off is that The Parties instead of backing their policies resort to making attacks at the opposition policies. Its almost as if they dont think there own ones stand up so they have to bring the other ones down.

The petrol issue is really going to hurt Labour but its not as if they made the problem - you cant honestly believe that any other party would drop the tax on petrol to help out the people.

I personally think labour will stay in power as alot will be thinking better the devil we know rather than a new Blue Devil.

Either way im with Blackbird - ill do my best to ensure my family is achieving as much as possible in all aspects and hopefully can survive through another poorly run government.

I agree with you only insofar as Nationals policies are too close to what Labour is. The reason for that is simple, the slippery Labour bastards have over the decades carefully nurtured a ''world owes me a living'' mentality'' and National have to a degree had to follow suit because of the brainwashing that has been carefully orchestrated. They have systematically infiltrated the teaching proffessions, the media, politicised the civil service - it happens with all governments and grown it into an overfed juggernaut, and god knows what else.
Yes, fuel prices have skyrocketed and impacted on everything. But the Government is laughing because the total tax take out of fuel has also increased enormously.Why else do most Governments around the world not really care, then. If they are indeed a ''government for the working man'' then I seriously dont believe it and in practice they never have been. - like the majority of most Labour governments over the last 25 yrs - have drifted to the centre and taken over where National used to sit. Most National style governments have got even more right wing! Quite simply they could have capped their total take out of fuel and lessened the impact.No other government in the world has, Road use charges for truckies, well what a pack of insensitive money grabbing bastards, say no more. Why not. Trucks hammer the roads and more stuff should go by rail, anyway.
The BIG difference with National is that they are far more blessed with self made practical people with a better conception of the real world. - as it applies to big business and "make all my mates rich while we fuck over the general populace" I hope they win with a thumping majority and are therefore free to dismantle the excesses of the most corrupt self serving ''government'' in our history. - apart from the Roger Douglas influenced Labour gov and the National government that followed - Bolgers bashers and Shipleys Sharks! ( Criminals ) - yes,they sure were!

The only reason Labour deserves to get the boot is because they have "three term arrogance". After six or seven yrs in power, most governments seem to think they are beholding to no one and the public will take what they are given and like it!
