    short answer:

    nod/wave - sign of respect.

You may not get 100% response tho in heavy traffic or motorway.

Scooters dont know about the wave/nod.

or don't waste your time with the ignorant and just enjoy your ride.

haahha thats funny and it's what i'd assume, I used to do car racing and we used to hate cars that looked fast but wasn't.

but hey my bike does 0-100 in under 5 seconds turns nicely and looks like a mean ass bike, it's the most seen bike on the road in fact i've just moved into a new house in albany and someone a few doors along has a one!

Ahh proops, I thought this was a thread about NOD and GDI and command and conquer stuff ... but then it wouldn't be in General Bike Ravings ... unless the General counts ...

I like to do my "I'm a little teapot" routine when parked up at lights, adds variation and spice to my army salute, my wavy snake ripple wave, my superman wave, my thumbs up wave, my ... oh, you know about those ones!

I quite like the ... look left and right head movements in the rain to help clear off the rain drops nod!

Mate a bike is a bike. As long as you are happy with what you have got dont worry about what others say.
I wish I could afford to get new bikes like you guys but I cant. I am happy with mine... Unless someone wants to swap
If you are behind meDont ask as I am lost too.

    The Nod

    In my experience

Sportbike riders - wave to other sportbikes

Harley riders - never wave to a sportbike rider ( I have never owned or ridden a Harley so dont know if they wave to each other

Small bike riders - nod, they dont have to worry about a nod ripping their helmet off

Scooter riders - Low on the totem pole, I think they lift their heads up from the "hanging head in shame" position which can be mistaken for a nod
