When you consider that there are no pure bred Maori left in NZ and the are a makeup of several different races my questions are...

when walking the beaches and riversides do they fight inside their minds whether or not they should be there? The Moari side telling the white side to get lost.

when claiming for treaty settlement do they ever think that one side of their family tree was the one that "took" the land from them?
So how do you hand over the money from yourself to yourself? Why are they not expected to pay and why should the money go to those whose ancestors did the deed?

Why take money from those that kept their race more pure cause maori lost there own, when part of their fucking family tree - you know those ancestors that are to be respected in Moari culture - are the fucking same.

the other quetion is why when talking to these Moari that go around telling people about their culture always say how well I pronounce the word when I say mouldy? Why!
    Interesting MIZXR.
    What about this idea.
If, let's say 'the goverment', said you were now allowed money, for whatever reason, and you qualified for said money, would you turn it down?

"We" voted in goverments who over time have told kids they could ring social welfare if their parents said NO, and signed into United Nations pacts that give prisoners (criminals) more rights than you and I. Just two examples.
My question is, who's is at fault really?

Do you think Maoris would be making claims if the govt. hadn't put the option in place? Possibly.

Make sure you vote for who is nearest to your wants.

(Fuck, that was a mouthful, my head hurts)

    Totally Agree.
Seems to be a lot of lawyers connected to Waitangi Tribunal.
Legal Aid, add in appeals, there's lotsa tax money to be made.

I may be wrong here but, if I was in the shit, I either wouldn't qualify for legal aid, or if I was would have to pay it back.
Better off having fuck-all or cheating the system.
Same comments again about us voting in govts. who put these in place.

You continue to believe you can categorise people's behaviour based on their ethnic heritage and its just plain wrong. Go find a redneck forum to spout your drivel.

Thank you, this forum is utter crap from obviously un educated people, maori fooled the white man over and over during the land wars so they can't be that bloody stupid..

and thanks you my other half for most of the maori side of my family is German Scotish and Irish. Hard pressed trying to find a Maori in my family with English heritage. Not that i would be a racist prick about that side either.

and just for the record, Im both Maori and Pakeha. I can't change that and I am proud of my family. Some people from my racial groups may have done bad things yes I cant change that and I can't be proud of it.

Doesnt change the fact I belong to these racial groups .. however I am proud of my family, They are all hard working ( maybe a few preganant cousins here and there ) but My family does own alot of land in a trust and it is farmed by a uncle who works his arse of longer hours than alot of you could imagine be it Christmas day or what. Rain/hail/snow good season bad season. and yeh he is happy to be a cockey..

My father brought me up best he could and has done a good job as far as im concerned he gave me oportunities and choices .

I have a Aunt who teaches Young naughty kids who are going on a downhill road to no where fast. she works her butt of for minimal money and then pours it all straight back into them. She also put her self and paid for her self to do a degree in phychology and teaching. And all these people are Maori..

And for the record our farmland was purchased 100's of years ago by my great great great grandad who's father was a German imigrant and mother was a Maori women. So no treaty claim thank you,

I have. I work with a guy whose tribe has been given money by us/the government.
They've bought a prison (no, they don't get cheap rates when their relatives are in there - I asked). They've got a shopping mall. All sorts of stuff. They've invested it in useful things, so that their children have an income in years to come.

Not all Maoris are dumb idiots.

Well according to Chopper Read, if you look at the person on your left and then the one on your right, and then take a look at yourself you get a totally different result!

I reckon be proud of your heritage, whatever it may be. You are what you are. Not one of us had any choice as to how we arrived in this world, or what our ancestry was

Actually yes, for starters I would rather be called a NZ'er than accept money for being a stupid, hard done, by disadvantaged race who need special benifits to survive. This is the reasons for most of the funding but generally put in a better way apart from on darky Labour MP.

Been in this position before with an op on my leg that was stuffed up and would have cause major problems and eventually decided I could live without the money when I found where it would come from.

If it was for a treaty then why that would no longer be my race so why not see the money spent on new technology or whatever or something that may help a greater number of people than wasted on a few people. Who don't seem to spend it on their race, they still expect the govt to pay and people are happy with this.

Both really. If enough people would care and continue to care something might get done - not sure I believe this but I'll keep dreaming.
The worst part is that middle NZ wants to cause no offence to anyone so its easier to hit the victim.

I'd think I would need my own party but it would be considered racist just like the nice Austrailian lady.
