    Yup. Gutted.

Woulda been there if my licence wasn't in a cupboard at LTNZ and my motorcycle in a police impound yard.

But I wasn't about to take a bus from Auckland to Taupo just to avoid getting called a pussy, I'm afraid.

    Letter of apology

It is with my sincerest wishes that I publicly state my apologies to Sidecar Bobs Post Classic BMW sidecar.

Big tripod Fwrrrrrrr, I must hereby apologise for constantly taking the piss out of you, both to your face and in the public domain. After yesterday, I now have the utmost respect for you. You are truly worthy of the Scrivy/Sidecar Bob freakshow status! You were so gentle on me for my first ride, that it was like you wanted me to take the piss out of you. Then, once the gloves were off, you just upped the ante, and gave me the learn. I am humbled big Fwrrrrrrrrr. You gracefully showed me that you don't need big horsepower to have fun. I am forever in your debt.

    Regards,
    Scrivy
    (Big Fwrrrrrr..... convert)

Great day, thanks! I think i'm a little traumatised from last year - I found it more frightening this time round.
Went out on the pink 600 first up, whey hey hey!, she's pretty quick.... lost my grip coming into the first turn on the third lap, that slowed her down some, thankfully. Then out on the long white / orange rig which was pretty straight forward. The most "enjoyable" ride was on the classic triumph, strange feeling swing off the front with nothing infront to rest against on the brakes. I was rooted by that stage
'ad a go on the long Lawernce bro rig which was gentle for the first lap, comfortable for the second and a bit much on the third.... I wondered why he opened it up for the third lap, apparently Mr Scrivener was giving him hurry up waves from pit wall, thanks Andrew
At least i stayed aboard, aye O' / Logan!
Thanks again all involved. After a lay down in the afternoon i made a full recovery and continued my normal activities.

I am still waiting for Enigma51's reply....................

And before he tells you some imaginative story of how he was dragged for a whole lap, or how he was delt to by some deranged lunatic, or even by a 240Hp engine in a wild bucking bronco ride................

I must state he was riding on a 'GIRLS' sidecar, with about 110 Hp, and she was taking it ever so gently, being the professional rider she is.

I wonder if he said anything to Tracey prior to going out with her along the same lines as he said to Sidecar Bob 'I hear you are a soft cock.......'
(Ya see, Tracey would've taken exception to that......)

Was great to see you Stify, and meet the family

I had the best day ever! went out on the PB racing bike first off and after that I was almost just going to ride with them again, however with the people queing I thought I would give someone else a go. Wanderered off and bought more tickets before going on the black one with "Don't lick this bar" written on one of the grab rails (#47 or 57?) believe it was the swinger driving so had a nice sedate ride
Highlight of the day.. Having a go with John, on the then imaculate looking Guzzi which Brett used to swing on. Apon climbing aboard I first found the hand holds, then looked up and thought... Hmmm not much to hold me in here, best I hang on tight. With a push from the nice by-standers (no face plant like the other poor guy I saw do it) we were off, into the first corner I figured these guys don't need to warm up the tires, cause we were off and racing!A bit of air here and there, and on what I thought was the last lap we continued on past the pits for another! YEAH! Pace was getting pretty quick, all was going well.. Small incident on the last lefthander, hit oil on track, bit of sideways and superman action, creating a not so immaculate looking Guzzi, yet I still wanted more! John was straight back out there with another punter. I think I told him a dozen times that day.. If he needed a swinger he could call anytime Guess I finally understand what Brett used to rave on about!
Sorry I didn't get a go with you SidecarBob, had a broken visor on helmet and Sue kindly loaned me her helmet for the ride home so didn't want to scratch it up or anything
Cheers to all teams and the sidecar association, for a great event! Once a year just isn't enough!
Swinging - My new found passion. It Rocks!.. And rolls! I want MORE!

Hopefully she will be buzzing for a long time!!! Fantastic to see young kids experiencing these types of thrill rides (esp. in this over PC world)
My kids look forward to this day each year!!

The highlight of my day was a 3 lap unofficial race with Darren Pate on the orange GSXR1100 outfit, (Which the BMW won incedentally)
After learning the BMW for about 2 hours i thought i wasnt going too bad until scrivy got on it & made it do everything except for talk!!
The huge wheel up slides exiting the left handers & backing it in at the hairpin were awesome.Im SOOOO looking forward to a season on the side of this thing with him at the controls, he really does have freak status.
