Why ban / naughty bin / sanction etc... people from a site?
I don't know if this forum software supports it - but isn't it far better to block / filter out responses from members you don't like, rather than ban them outright? (or just ignore them).
If people get offended - then THEY have the issue. Anyone can say anything they like to me on here... it is ME that CHOOSES to be offended.

I'll expect a flood of red for this but well here goes anyway...
Not once did Carver actually refer to anyone specifically (well not until others did anyway). I think his point wasn't actually a bad one in that too many riders end up dead on our roads. My personal opinion is that the use of the photos in that thread was more disrespectful and tacky than anything he said.
As many had already said - no amount of 'scare tactic' was going to make an actual difference to his 'percieved attitude' (whether he actually is as bad on the road as he spouts on here seems to remain to be seen - their vids (the ones I have bothered with admittedly)certainly don't seem to paint the kind of picture that would seriously concern me) SO why the need to use fallen riders as 'examples' to teach - I seriously doubt it made any difference to him though my sense would be that it upset a hell of a lot more people than who it was targeted at.
It's heartbreaking that any road users end up dead because of their love for riding the road the way they each choose to. Should anything happen to me and someone thinks it appropriate to use pictures of me or my wrecked bike or my cut up gear...think again - my close friends and family don't need or want that and I'll be haunting your arse if I'm able.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - ignore the man if you can't help but be incensed by his posts...really it often says more about you than him anyway - especially the tone of some responses.
Again just my two cents worth and I am sure that there will be a whole lotta people that think my view is just head in sand stuff but - these were real people with real families.
AND YES - my selected choices are to not have any discussion or announcement on KB if something happens to me on a bike

I think Mark that you have missed MY point - that I felt it more disrespectful and fairly tacky to see the pics that were used in the way that they were...While I get the 'point' you were trying to make I felt that was far more disrespectful than his vague comment about KB's high number of accidents from people riding like twats - not really a huge leap to make is it...not really so surprising and again remember who was saying it!
I'm not sticking up for him but I think your own sensitivity made it about the other riders...I saw a general comment on our community (FROM A WELL KNOWN SHIT STIRRER) - which actually if you think about isn't really surprising. With the huge numbers of us on here of course there is going to seem to be more than a fair share of fatals and accidents...that was how I read his point..even if it weren't couched particularly well I didn't see him trying to disrespect any of the fallen riders (ok so saying crashers must all ride like twats is somewhat disrespectful however he never mentioned anyone in particular and again HE IS A SHIT STIRRER...I also saw him commenting on the bravado that often accompanies this sites chatter....again not a huge leap to make

That's fine Skiddy...but again I thought the use of the pics in this instance disrespectful and did you really have to meet him halfway with the 'reaction by any means necessary stakes' I actually took issue with the other pic more that hte ones you posted but also SO what if they were 'publicly available'...does that mean to say that close friends and family would sanction their use in that thread in that manner to make that point, to that individual in an effort to 'wake him up'?
