If Kawhia is a bit too far i can show you guys some of the roads around Otorohanga. One of which was used for the Targa Rally today.
They wont be as twisty as the Kawhia road but there will still be plenty of twisties for all.
cool, regular weekend rides!!!
wont be able to make it this weekend but will be keen for the rest of summer. Waingaro ride is a goody but a bit short for a decent days outing, unless you carry on up SH22 and back through Te Kawhata, Miranda, Gordonton perhaps.
Kawhia is a good sunday cruize...... failing that theres heaps of good roads in the waikato to choose from, hardest part is deciding where you want to have lunch!
I have never been over the road to kawhiathen i have never been down most of the roads we have rode so far so its a moot point, votes anyone? i am keen for an up to 300km trip i get about 200km outa a tank.
Yeah man, thats where it started, regular cruisy rides.
Maybe we need to get together for 30 mins with everyone first and decide on routes?? I am thinking that will take the guess work out of allot of things and give the people who know the routes better option for an audience.
The first ride started with us heading in a general direction with no destination in mind![]()

Ham - Kawhia- Ham would be closer to 180 kms, I think if you wanted longer you come back through Otorahonga, Teawamutu way (or something like that). Getting to Kawhia you can't really go wrong, theres only one way from Pirongia to it. Prob best to meet somewhere, head to Pirongia for coffee then Kawhia. Then plan a route back.

Life would be so much easier if you addressed questions with a simple answer.
I would be keen to come along, i havent ridden much over winter so i need to get back into riding. Not sure i'm up for a 300k on my first outting but i can easily head back half way or something. I get about 140kms before i need to refuel. I'm from Cambridge btw.
Did you guys stop and have lunch at the Cambridge bakery a few weekends back, by any chance? i saw about eight bikes or so and a group of riders sitting outside there.

Only issue with main centres like tga is the main roads, too many cages and boring roads, in saying that the paeroa to whangamata road is definately not boring and neither the is the kaimais road.
Dunno, will have to see what everyone wants to doi mean i could be hurricane central by sunday, ya never know.
I am quite keen on doing that miranda - raglan circuit one night this week, i don't know the road so it could be very fun!

Hidee Ho peoples
Pissed I missed the ride on Sunday. Wifey decided no-go cause of the weather prospect so I decided to have one last dash at the snow. Turned out that was a bullocks idea and I should have come for a ride with you lot.
Anyways, we went for a drive to Kawhia a few weeks back to see what it was like and relive my youth. Pretty cool road and the big washouts aren't that much of an issue. We'd be keen for a Kawhia run and meeting at Pirongia since we'll be coming from the mighty 'moot (TA).
We went for a blat to Raglan about 2 weeks ago and got a little pissed with the cages. She's a busy road in the weekends and it was choca when we got into town especially with the cruisers.
Tauranga is a bit of a bland ride. I had to ride the bike back from there since I brought it over there.
That's just my 2 cents. If it's fine we'll keen to join use fella's. I wanna see all these wheelstands!![]()
