Hmmm.. try downloading a whole new spyware removal freeware and running it... If you have and that didnt work...
How much new data have you put onto your system since the click of doom? You could do a system restore to the day before that and that often helps...might lose any new data though(this can be prevented by copying the latest data onto a temp location)

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore... Follow the prompts from there... its pretty straight forward... You want to select all the Drives ( i.e. C, D and any others that you have partitioned) when it asks you as you may not know where the bloody virus is sourcing from... Choose a day/date a day or two before the click of doom... Let me know how you go

I had that one a few weeks ago,but I didn't make the mistake of buying their program to make matters worse. We used a couple of my own antivirus programs to remove it....but problems still kept surfacing. So a couple of weeks ago my son in law took everything off the hard drive, and then put them back one by one.I've lost a lot of stuff I never use,but it's faster without the clutter.

Try Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - a great free program which will clean out most stuff like Antivirus 2009. You can get from: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Now that you've done the system restore, I'd advise that you use Windows Update and download all of the latest patches and security fixes.

Very very very risky thing to do and can often make things worse. Modern virus' reside in the system restore data too.

Malwarebytes thingie has a free version.

There's countless threads on the antivirus2009 and it's variants on KB already.

Highly recommend a visit to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ to make sure the virus is gone.
