    So sorry to hear that!

But sadly it always gets worse around xmas. There are ppl out there who can't be bothered earning the money. And who have no problem giving their kids pressies they have stolen!

Re the police; sadly they do not need to work on their customer relations as they have a captive audience.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Sorry to hear of yet another instance of pre-xmas shopping.
I'd like to think that the bastards will be caught, but stats say they won't.
    Whole thing sucks.
Can we do anything to help?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Should you ever be lucky enough to catch them in the act, just ring and tell the police what's going on... you've come back from pig hunting and seen these wankers, and that they've got less than 5 minutes to come, otherwise they'll best be bringing a hearse as your trigger finger is itchy.

Sure, you'll get a beat down over telling lies to the police, but they'll be there en masse pretty damn smartly, and it seems unlikely that a judge would give you anything other than a fine at worst... I've met a number of the judges locally, they're all reasonable family men.

Why cant things go back to the old days when theft was greeted a neck, with a long rope, a long drop and a short sharp stop?

Gutted for you Devil...know how it sux.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.

Because the criminal culture is virtually sociably acceptable in NZ and is seen as something cool.

Yep, that family of thieving crims are so cool. I want to be cool like that when I grow up! Not some nerd that needs to work a 9-to-5 to put food on the table.

shooting people in the head with a high powered rifle usually stops them from doing anything else, however if you want to stay out of prison you then have to help them go missing in a permanent manner, and all of this has to be done without anybody else knowing, and then you cant even share it with your mates.........true justice is hard to achieve.

I thought the cops had started to treat burglaries as a top priority. there was that burglary in Waiouru where 32 cops turned up to it, and all over some tiny wee medals that had no practical purpose, only sentimental value.

That seriously sucks! Mate, I hope your insurance company will be prompt and efficient.

As for punishment, I must say I'm happy not to live in society where hanging for theft is the order of the day. That's not to say I wouldn't like catching the bastards in the act and perhaps get a chance to administer some self-defense, if you know what I mean.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
