I thought I'd share this with all the other noobs amoung us. It's about countersteering and I saw it from a recent thread on here. A little technical at the start but the demo explains it all.

I found from racing pedal bikes for years I did it naturally without knowing. I was also taught/explained a brilliant way of countersteering at the recent trackday. They didn't tell us to push with our inside hand or anything. They just told us to do two things and it automatically made you countersteer without even thinking (which is perfect for me).
If the reason why you countersteer in the vid still doesn't gel with ya (technical) it just makes riding corners a lot smoother, easier and safer (oh and faster)
Well done dude, were u nervous?
I believe that was in the previous management meetings, recorded in the minutes somewhere it says that people who get their restricted license have to shout for the wednesday night drinks!
Thanks dude, thats a really cool video, its amasing how you can learn the same thing over and over and get something out of it every time...

To be honest I couldn't be assed typing it out and it's easier to show but since you asked so nicely...
We were told....
You see what I'm doing?...
Pretty much to drop your inside shoulder into the corner and get the inside elbow out. The shoulder thing is like shoulder barging someone. The way I thought about it, the elbow thing helps bring the body forward into the turn and puts pressure on the inside bar i.e. countersteering without knowing. I thought doing these two things was the easiest way to get someone to countersteer without going into the details.
It also gets you to lean into the turns and flowing around the corner. Add a bit of knee action and you're sliding your knee around corners. Easy![]()
