As far as shops go, Filco in Nelson is very good. Plenty of stock and good service. Makes the other 3 or 4 shops here in Nelson look VERY average.
I can do Cordura Jackets and Pants and Leather gloves.
Havent got website up and running yet, viewing welcome.

Just reading through here and the thought that came to mind is that this is just becoming a list of shops where people have purchased gear, not neccessarily who is good and why which I think would give it more relevance as a resource - otherwise it's no better than a dealer list or the yellow pages!
Most of the posts just read like 'I bought some boots from XYZ Motorcycles'
whereas I believe it should be something like ' I bought a complete set of gear from XYZ and they gave me a free doodad as a thank you for my business. A week later I had a problem with the jacket leaking and they had a new one/had it fixed within a couple of days so I could go riding at the weekend'
We need to know why these shops are so good and why we should spend our money there.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes
Fair point cs363 but initially i was just after a list of shops that you could go to online to see gear etc or bikes for sale.
Yes it is just a directory now but still handy to be able to come to this thread and click on the links for your area.
Perhaps you could start an extra thread about rating the shops from this thread and asking for the deals that people got above and beyond the expected price.
You could try Waikato Yamaha's trade me store http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Lis...member=1721492

Happy shopping Guy's
Motomail are worth buying from. (Mentioned already www.motomail.co.nz)
I have bought Dragin' Jeans, Leather Jacket, Rain Pants, Helmet & Helmet accessories from them and they are good to deal with. Had a bit of a crackle coming through the left speaker on my Nolan N-COM basic kit that they fitted into my helmet (bought helmet + N-COM - they fitted for no extra charge). I popped in and explained the crackle - they replaced the speakers on the spot (no fuss, no argument) and I left happy with the good service.
Don't know if already posted, but another on-line outlet:

David.
I would say motomail should be considered in the list of Auckland shops as well. Their college hill store has a definate presence that is beyond an "online retailer"
Palmerston North - http://www.anzamotorcycles.co.nz
I was trying to find an offshore store prepared to ship an Airoh TR1 helmet to NZ, when I stumbled on this mob in Christchurch: www.vroom.co.nz
Good service, very helpful advice over the phone and overnight delivery. When I found the lid too tight they immediately replaced it with the next size up.
Looking at their site today I notice some bargain boots from $365 down to $150. Tempting as mine are starting to show their age...
I got my Caberg helmet from www.scottiknights.co.uk They have a comprehensive online store and were prepared to ship to NZ...but the UK courier costs are blardy high.
I've used www.quasimoto.co.nz for my full leathers and a couple of gloves now. Always helpful and quick to delivery overnight. Their latest version of leathers, that I've sampled, are even better quality again to mine - and I've no gripes with what I got. I would have no reservations about replacing my leathers with Quasi again, when the time comes.
Happiness is a means of travel, not a destination
List updated - seems lots of people looking for gear in Welly at the moment too.
I'm going to try getting some gear (boots and cordura pants) from:
http://www.1tonne.co.nz
The prices are good, hope the quality turns out to be alright...
Mostly want to save this thread into my subscribed threads for future reference
I have to wait till payday -or till I sell the scooter- before I can afford the gear. If I crash in the mean time I'll just have wrecked ankles, knees, legs, etc...
