    Favourite '80s bands and songs?

after seeing an old classic posted in another thread,i thought it would be cool to hear from you, about what bands, and their songs,were/are your favourites from the 80's.

also,i've being at a loss for what new music to listen to lately, and because the 80's was such a diverse decade,i thought that there would be some great memory joggers posted.

    cheers

    New Order baby!

    I feel so extraordinary
something's got a hold of me
I get this feeling I'm in motion
    A certain sense of liberty.

New Order also holds a special place for the way the bass often carries the melody.

i love frank zappa's music, but i have to say, that my wife wasn't too impressed when our 12yo boy started singing some of his songs .

"watch out where the huskies go,and don't you eat the yellow snow"
    "broken hearts are for arseholes"
"my guitar wants to kill your momma"

I'd say his best music came from 1969. Son of mr green genes is epic.
