Is there anyone out there who have become Grandparents before the age of 40 & if so How Old??
Congratulations!!! that is great news. A girlfriend of mine had her daugther at 14 and she followed suit at about the same age. My friend now has about 5 grandchildren and reckons they are the best fun ever..

    Lol!

I get the feeling I probably had a lucky escape myself.

    It's all luck I reckon.

With an attitude like that is it any wonder he's your ex? I just don't understand how someone could try and pressure someone to "get rid of" an infant as if he/she was some sort of impediment to having a good life. Any decision like that can only be arrived at by the young parents, and by them alone.

What a knob. Missing out on being the cool grandad.

My Parents are in their 70's. None of us boys have breed (49, 45 and 35), but lucky for Ma and Pa the girls have (51 and 48). The Youngest grandkid is 18+. My Parants also have two Step-Greatgrandkids. Me, I will be lucky now ta ever know the joy of being a Dad, let alone know the joy of being a Granddad. Such is life. Treasure ya kids and grandkids well.

I must have left it a bit late. I'm 37 and my sons are 4 and 2.

I keep trying to pass them on to the Granparents to look after but am meeting stern resistance.....

My sis in law is due on the 8th feb which is our sons birthday. She had her first one on our daughters birthday..
My mum was a gran at 35 thanks to my sister, I was 5 when that happened.. was a bit harsh on mum as my sis was pretty young at 15.
That wee babe grew up to make my sister a gran at 41 so not that much more..
Congrats on the little ones immenent arrival.

Mum was a grandmother at 37.

She now has 11 grandkids at aged 50.

Shes looking forward to meeting her great grandchildren.

Mum looks younger as a grandmother than she did as a mother. (has nothing to do with her rebellious kids of course lol )

Grantparenthood is another word for 'Payback time'!

You get get to feed the moko's up with junk to get them fizzing, then give 'em back to the parents to deal with.

A tip though....It works even better if you visit because then they (your kids) still have to clean up the mess and you get to go back and enjoy your tidy house.

    Yep, yep, yep...grandkids are cool!

My mum always said that she didn't want to be a grandparent before she was 40. She's now approaching 52 and there still aren't any on the horizon, and my sister and me are almost 31 and 28. We've both been married for around five years, we just don't want kids at this point in time.

My grandmother was 59 when I was born and she always said that she was too old to enjoy us and wishes she'd had my father younger. She was 30 when he had him back in 1952 and I believe that made her an old maid! I always wanted to give my parents kids before they were too old, but hey, life doesn't always go the way we want!
