The food will be typical rally fare RQ, i.e. pies, burgers, toasted sandwiches, etc. There's a few of us who take own, which gives a better feed. Depends on how much room you have. You won't need anything for the Friday night anyway...

On the Friday night it would be great if we could get together for a feed at the pub. The reason? Mrs S and I will celebrate a fairly significant wedding anniversary on the Wednesday. Pay for your own meals but we may pay for a round or two of drinks.

On the Saturday I think if we could organise ourselves a group ride (as much as dislike big group rides) in to Hokitika for breakfast, trip around Lake Kaniere, to Hokitika Gorge, and have lunch at Ross pub (or similar), then back to the site, would make for a great day.

From what I hear, if there is good weather, it gets pretty warm there, so Im thinking a change of summer clothes Oh and sunscreen!!

The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, .... but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,... shouting "man, what a ride"!!!

This might be a good lunch stop... Pukekura. About 15 km's south of Ross. Their motto ... you kill it, they'll grill it... Wild foods are their specialty...
Their are some good places to eat in Hoki', if Rally fare is not to your liking...Reasonably priced too.
