Anyway, I don't see that there's much that can be done about it? Unless they start refusing to sell land/houses to people based on ethnicity/colour/religion, then the government can step in? (Not that I can see anyone of a different ethnicity wanting to buy up land in their little white haven).

Why should we as a society have to tolerate misogyny, bigotry, racial prejudice or hatred? Is not the social contract that is the foundation of our society founded on principles of equality and justice for all? So people who step outside the social contract are shunned, and subject to censure by the mechanisms by which we are agreed to be governed. So that applies to these turkeys, Black Power, mongrel mob, 1% drug dealers (sorry motorcycle clubs) or general scum who flout the rules of society.

Dont get me wrong, I am at heart a libertarian, but my rights are limited by the social contract: I am able to be free/do what I want so long as I dont harm others. No more false or bizzare than believing in god, aliens, magic or any of the many other things that billions of (so called) sentient beings on our little planet believe in without any scientific basis.

My point was that as long as they are not shoving it down everyone elses thraots, but simply trying to isolate themselves off in their own little place I don't have much problem with it.

I feel this is somewhat hypocritical, they think differently from you, therefor you think this is bad? I guess you can argue that they might in the future start marching out from their Rangiora stronghold to cleanse the world of non whites, but from what I've seen their stated objective is just to start a community consisting only of people that think like them, and shun the outside world that disagrees with them, which is done by many religious groups already around the country, what makes this any worse? Personally I think groups like Destiny, TCJCLDS, Scientology etc are a much bigger threat than a few dozen rednecks in Rangiora.
