Dude dont do it. -its simple economics mate--if ya aint got glasscover then WHEN the bullsey gets worse your gonna need a screen replaced at $350 --better fix it whilst its 5/8 of Fa
Which engine mount is it thats farked?
the front lower is a POP to fix--Jack under motor -loosen 4 bolts -throw old mount away and put new mount in--ditto the right upper.
Re Tyres-- Most likely the car has a camber issue.
Im betting that on the outside they are all good tread--trouble is that im bettin that the inside edge is as smooth as a badgers butt.
The problem there is that yes they might pass the 1.5minimum over 3/4 of the tread rule but if worn to almost exposed cords anywhere then its a fail.
Also dude sorry but shit wears out its a fact of life --none of this stuff is major to fix but if it fucks out you're gonna be a sorry camper

Seriously, go and see Frosty, he's an absolute champion and you'll end up with both a safe car and a WoF. The guy is offering you a hand, let him help you out.

Well done My son is a student and he has also had issue after issue with his car .. each time he has learned something. He has replaced the radiator, changed tyres (some tyre places will let you pay $5 week off new tyre) sanded and bogged rust, replaced the headlight from a second hand parts shop ... and on it goes.

Tell you what tho' - he's learned more about cars by having to fix the problems than he ever would have trying to dodge the problem. It's all about attitude, a little humility - admit you don't know it all and keep asking for help from those who know their stuff and a willingness to stick at it til the problem is fixed.

Cars will always keep you broke, but you won't be a student forever so hang in there!

If you DO get a dodgy warrant and subsequently wipe out someone I care about, I WILL hunt you down. I may not be the biggest baddest mofo out there, but I CAN climb up you and chew your face off

    Do the right thing, FFS....

Hey, hey- calm it down ffs. You do realise how many real threats there are out there right? Boy racers, small dick exhaust honda civics with no insurance, maoris in stolen cars, asian woman, rugged big boy kiwis in their 5.5L holdens driving like maniacs, disgruntled bus drivers, couldn't-give-a-fuck mums in their big 4wd's... I think me in my innocent 50kph insured nissan is the least of your worries my friend... Get real, come on. I'm telling you, if you came down here with your pre 2009 car for a one hour wof inspection at this place, you'd get failed too...

Hoping to go hard and get it all done this weekend. Should feel great doing it the right way that's for sure...

Hey man, no problem. I've done it. Did some searching on internet for how to do that power steering belt but the engine mount i couldnt do since I don't have anyway to get under the car. I ended up paying for labour for the engine mount. Apparently it was a load of BS anyway and the mount should have passed wof standards for sure. Paid for the windscreen chip to be sealed up.

It's broken me balls with the $ but at least I know it's absolutely faultless now.

    Thanks for help...

Grow some balls and dont shove your irresponsibility onto some poor innocent victim on the road.

Your car fails it fails for a reason.

The one thing nobody has mentioned (no matter if its a wind up or not) is an AVI that reads this shit gets a bit miffed to think there may well be some lowlife asshole with the power to put an unsafe car on the road without any guilt.
What i cant understand is that even if a dodgy wof is issued then the owner gets pulled by a cop (or LTSA checkpoint) and the fault is found then the fact you have a wof on the screen means jack shit. If a car is found to be failing due to some item being damaged , broken , missing , bald or whatever then the sticker means nuffin at all. You get a ticket for the fault and then to get the car back on the road it has to go through an agency that just loves to find ALL the small stuff and big stuff to make a point to the owner.

Daily we have people ask us to issue a wof anyway for a small failure item and they have a mate / cousin or whatever that can fix the item , then they say , "you can trust me to do it aye "? Yer rite asshole , get it fixed and bring it back for a recheck , you have 28 days , get on with it.
Wednesday morning , a middle aged guy with a triple bullet hole in the CVA comes in to work and he says yer i have an appointment at Smith n Smith tomorrow so its cool to issue the wof now. My answer , "sorry sir , cant do it and anyway there is no point putting a new sticker on an old screen , come back tomorrow ".
I saw the car today at the shops , not fixed and no wof but a second inspection sheet on the front seat from another inspector. Bloody tosser.
Its friggen free with screen cover man just do it ffs.

Insured? Did i read that right? Yes you'll be paying for your so called "insurance." Even if you had a dodgey wof sticker slapped on the windscreen if you were to have an accident your insurance is void.
