    Good tattooists for wrist work?

    Hey ya,

looking for tattoists in the lower North Island that are good at script work (words on the wrist). No it's not for me, but for a female friend. She's in Palmy but willing to travel a few hours if the tattoist is good. Have heard that Sid down Tremaine in Palmy is very good, Black Dahlia tattoo studio in Manaia and also the Dragon Tattoo Studio in Hastings. Anyone have any experience with any of these places? (She went to The Powerhouse in Palmy and didn't receive the best treatment so is wanting to find another place to get it done).

    Thanks Guys

Interesting, I was going to suggest Powerhouse. What did they do to turn her off?

They told her that wrist tattoos were "as common as muck" was she sure she wanted to get one THERE and that anyway in a few years the ink would start to bleed and distort and it would look horrible. In ten years it would just be a blob. She felt he really just didn't want to give the time of day and that he didn't take her seriously or respect her custom. She got the distinct impression he didn't want to do the tattoo (whether because of her as a client, wrist tattoos in general or because he didn't consider writing "art" she wasn't sure). If he didn't like doing them the polite thing would just have been to tell her so and suggest someone else from the parlour (or a different parlour) who'd be happy to do it for her.

    Hi Storm,

My ex-husband and I would highly recommend Jas at The Black Dahlia in Manaia. He has done both of my tats and all 7 of my ex-husbands. Our experiences to date with Jas has been awesome.

Jas did my first when I was 23 then the second when I was 25, Im nearing 32 and the work is as good as the day I got them, same applies to ex-husbands work. Hope this helps.

    Good luck

Common as muck or not is this true about wrist tatts? I wanted my next one on the inside of my wrist...somewhere I can look at it. Will be characters too - so yes writing Will it really bleed and turn into blob in a few years? Perhaps inside forearm would be better? Anyone got any advice and also who is the best in Welly for this...someone that isn't likely to turn their nose up at my 'common as muck' choice?

Doesn't have to be art...it's something symbolic for me...fark I'd be soo pissed if I got that kinda reception!

My sons first tattoo. Top quality, top sevice. He even got a call a few weeks later asking if he was happy and if all was OK. And price was 1/3 of others quoted. I go there next my self.

The chap is a very busy one man studio in Hawke's Bay. If U keen PM me.
