Yep, he sure has a need to win........

Which brings back to Miladin. That guy has been wasted in AMA!!!!!!!!!!

Great WSBK racing, nearly as good as WorldSuperSport, lol..
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

Yeah big to Ben Spies, that,ll have the others worried as it was his first outing at Philip Isl. & it looked like he paced himself really well than just pulled away at the end.....
I havnt watched superbikes since they dropped it of T.V 1, & it was awesome to watch,im sad to say it was more exciting than the G.p's....& the 6hundies , fuck they were even better!!

Yeah I've always thought Mladin had a bit of a raw deal not getting a Moto GP ride. Him and Spies are the hardest chargers I've seen race for a long long time!

As a kid Mladin stepped off a winning superbike and was thrown in the deep end of 500 GP. He struggled (well, duh) and cagiva, short sightedly sacked him (honda, meantime thought they'd keep Doohan..)
Understandable that he turned his back on that scene and filled his boots elsewhere. Maybe should have gone to wsbk then? - he would have ruled for years.

Spies - all this talk of electronics and the bike blah blah its good to see that there is scope for an outstanding young rider to rattle the cage a bit! He's got a bunch of tracks to learn, so the championship is a big ask, but he's gonna win a lot of races!
Crasher's right - yesterdays performance will make the established pro's doubt / shit themselves.

What now then, will you be selling Yamahas at the Scooter Centre again?
    Cheers

Yeah I rember his Cagiva stint. I've met the guy..and he is a pretty stand offish to say the least. Maybe he was simply too cool to the factories if/when they approached him!

I was a spectator al the Lakeside round of the Aussie Nats when he was back on the TKA ZXR750...and Mladin was the only guy that lap after lap had the thing bouncing off the rev limiter through the nasty kink on the front straight that had a well nasty dip in it too! The sparks were flying off the underside of the bike...and there's a concrete wall on the outside of the kink. Was massive to watch. Respect!

Great racing. The highlight for me so far came in the first race of the WSS where Ants West led onto the main straight and was still leading 150m from turn 1 only to go around the corner in fifth place... fucking mental

I was getting scared from the couch! Much of the credit for the great racing has to go to the track design - fast as fuckery with a brain-out first corner. Plenty of opportunity for slipstreaming and outballsing the guy in front. They don't build them like this anymore!
Best track still used at the world level?

That was the first ever WSB event I have watched. I have to say I enjoyed that more than a lot of Moto GP races I have seen recently and I didn't even have favourite riders to support.

So what happened? I was away for the weekend so on Friday morning I set my VCR (remember them?) for the channel and times in the TV Guide: Sky Sport 1 from 1:35 pm to 5:30 pm on Sunday 1 March. And all I've got is hockey, rugby, cricket and league. Did they shift it to another channel, or did I make a mistake? Anyway, last night I saw the highlights were on at 10:30 pm, so at 10:25 pm I sat down to watch. (5 minutes early so I wouldn't miss any.) In fact I caught the last 5 minutes of the show, which started at 9:30! Bastards!

They're reshowing the highlights today (or so they say) and I've set the VCR to record them. Wish me luck!

Is there anyone in Wellington who can lend me a tape or DVD of the whole event?

PS: I'm dealing with major disappointment issues here!

I've got rips of WSBK superpole and both races plus the WSS race that I could stick on a DVD if you're interested?

Yeah there is a bit more rough and tumble involved.... moto gp looks like its been rehearsed in comparison.
