nope. actually ynot slow put me onto a trademe advert which turned out to be a guy I know in hawkes bay.

Headlight *appears* brand new. Not a mark on it. Came off a crashed bike thats done 30000k (for a 98 shows you never owned it)
Got it for $100. Damn fine deal.

is it possible to book close (or joint) leave times? It is 6min intervals isnt it?

They are pretty flexible. Tend to be bunches of around 10 let go at one time and you'll be assigned a time based on when your entry is received but if you talk to Lee he'll let you go with your mates (if any of them are dumb enough to enter) ;-)

so if I talk nicely they will let me off 6 hrs before you so I can have a few smoke stops and ride with you

If you ride a small scooter or a 50 then maybe they'll let you start a couple of hours earlier but you'll still only get 24 hours. Stops are every 300km or at checkpoints only...
