Not by proxy Deano, they were born here,as I believe most,if not all,of those arrested for the alleged terrorist plot yesterday were. That`s the big problem for the government here, they`d dearly love to blame "sleepers",agents covertly slipped into the country e.t.c. but it aint so.Two things, most of those pulled as suspects and all of those involved in the train bombings were born here and led normal lives, were not trouble-makers and had never been in trouble with the law.If they`re found guilty of anything that`s one problem the Govt have to sort, why and why here,Britain on the whole has(although worryingly things are changing rapidly)pretty good race relations and no community can truly claim to be oppressed.Secondly "alleged" is a big word, hardly any of the several hundred people pulled in are ever charged, there`s either zero evidence or a major f-up that`s got them arrested in the first place. This has led to the usually tight-knit Asian community now being quite familiar with stories of doors being kicked in and people dragged out into the street by men with guns. The almost zero results this has so far achieved has led to a growing feeling amongst the community that they`re being singled out and in effect being terrorised themselves, the same as the Catholics in Northern Ireland felt and look where that led.Originally Posted by Deano
With respect to Hitcher's request, your question on Montheism can be aswered in the following way.Originally Posted by Street Gerbil
The God of the Book is the one common denominator of the three Judean religions. That this One God is known by three different names is of no matter. It is the God of Abraham. Some Christian sects do not acknowledge this but that is another story in which this thread as Hitcher rightly says is not suitable here. To understand the concept of the Trinity in as much as this singular Godhead is aknowldged by Chistians draw a large equalateral triangle on the floor. This singular object has three points. If you step into the middle of this triangle no matter which way you turn it will look the same. So it is with the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. It's all very simple.
Now I'm not going to comment any futher on this in respect to Hitcher's request.

The rest of your post I agree with. Especially this.
Well, newsflash: people of Sunday come second in the Islamic checklist, right after the people of Saturday. The conflict is not between United States vs. Islam, or 300 Jewish bankers vs. Islam, or the evil hydra of world zionism vs. Islam, or zionist-occupied-government vs. Islam. The conflict is between the-rest-of-the-world vs. Islam. It is just the problem that apart from the US, the "civilized west" is willing to sacrifice their future just to see Jews suffer. They do not realize that they are willingly play into Moslem good ole "Divide and conquer" scheme. People, even as remote from Israel as Kiwis are raised on a belief that there is a Jew behind every mischief. Just look at this board: the only thread that's more popular than jew-bashing here is cop bashing. And I am not even sure about cop bashing.

How convienient to be given land by your imaginary friend. It's even more far fetched than the Treaty of Waitangi.
This seems to be a recurring theme in Jewish history.
Speed doesn't kill people.
Stupidity kills people.
Not only recurring, Lou, but very old, supported by tons of archeological finds, and worst of all, Lou, translated to more than 2100 languages and printed in approximately 5 billion copies. Deal with it.
As for Maori, they really were royally screwed and attitude of some folks (mostly those frequenting indymedia NZ) believing that the land of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob needs to be somehow "returned" to "indigenous" inhabitants of the land, invented in late seventies of the last century, but preferring to keep New Zealand for themselves, looks, smells, and quacks a bit like hypocrisy to me.
Lou, it is very convenient and safe to insult a Jew. He just winces, sighs, and moves on. In this instance, however, IMO, you ventured farther than you wanted to. You see, it is a consensus of this forum, that Jews and Moslems share the same G-d. Your Moslem friends tend to get really pissed off when someone refers to the G-d as an "imaginary friend". They may even see it as an insult to Islam. Need I say more?
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule
That's the problem in a nutshell. And it isn't even all Islam. Just some strong-willed immams with strict interpretations of the Q'uran. But they operate among tens of millions of poor people who are susceptible to persuasive teachings. It only takes a few percent to create a movement and provide zealous activists.
The moderate moslem largely ignores these people but suffers from being cast into the same mould by the West.
The clash between Western values and those of the Islamic world are deadly serious. Islam considers that we are immoral and selfish. We think they are mysogenists and narrowminded.
If history is any guide, Islam will continue to spread throughout the world and then dilute as has happened with Christianity. But millions may die in the meantime.
