    I understand that Guinea Pigs make good eating. Was a story on the news about it awhile ago.

    Guinea pigs get eaten in some parts of asia too. They try to fob it off as chicken sometimes (they do that with rat also).

    GP's taste very nice.

    Dover - If you are serious, contact Hitcher as he works in MAF and will be able to tell you what you can get here or not get here etc..


    But Guinea pigs and rabbits are great pets for kids...

    when i lived in england i had a couple of gerbils one was called harry and one prince (he liked purple!!) any way my gay freind (no dont get excited im not gay mark!!) came over one day! i went to the toilet came back and only had harry my mate said prince had ran away! my mate had a huge smile on his face when he left!! thinking back on it i think he stole prince for some reason (frozen gerbil tube you get the picture!)
    i miss prince and i havnt seen that guy again
    thats my 2 cents

    South American Guinea Pigs are called Capibara aren't they? Or do they have the little ones there too?

    No they are not :-) They have intermittent periods of activity and sleep of approximately 1-1.5 hours. At least that's what typical US pet store gerbils do.
