They closed the bridge for the Hikoi/Maoris no questions asked basically, and to what cost to us?

Well said. If it were a one off maybe it'd be a differnt story, But every year? Missing out on one day of retail is a big deal with rent prices etc.

I expect I'd have to go through all manner of getting permissions/permits etc based on the inconvenience it causes to traffic flows.

Yes - there will be more people on Queen St, and that in turn will have some spin off business for some, and restrict business for others. Why shoudl those "others" be disadvantged?

Why can't the parade be somewhere like the domain where a lot of people can get better viewing... surely it's a more appropriate facility all round.
