well technically each one of those expansion chambers will allow the exhaust gasses to expand, which causes the gasses to cool and slow down. Four strokes run alot hotter then two stokes and i bet that whole exhaust is nearly red hot while being raced, and the rider has to put his leg right there. Im picking its mostly for cooling and some noise reduction on the second one. Either that or they used a pulse jet to make the exhaust out of. It looks alot like one.

NO... Gav we are talking about the side car that broke the land speed record WTF are you on about
A 387cc 3 cylinder two stroke is really 3 CR125's bolted together. You might like to further your motorcycle experience by riding an air cooled CR480 or YZ490, or maybe a water cooled CR500 or KX500, truely a big bore two stroke being singles. Can you say baarrrwwwwaaarrrrpppppp??
Yeah, Kick has updated me re the sidecar, I know you were gutted that the 'mericans had the WFI streamliner...they trying to start a collection or something?

HA! Methinks a 100kg max, 15hp (if its lucky!) Bucket and a 235kg, 126hp battle ship are significantly more differenter

yeah but at least i lasted the WHOLE sessions when I was out there...didn't chicken out after a lap
And a 250 2 stroke vs a 1200 V twin HD are about as different as you could get, they dont even originate from the same side of the world
And you did have the advantage of having riden both bikes before, quite extensively i might add

I'm sick of the north island and might be transferring back to Chch for work. How often does Ruapuna have track days/have a go days?

Looks like it was a lot of fun out there.
