    Pukie 21/01/07

Right here's a chance for 250 riders who have been out on Mav's rides to put what they have learnt into practice on a track.

The track day is being run by Kiwi Track Days. There are not many TD's held at Puke most seem to be at Taupo now here's your opportunity to take your riding to the next level without having to travel for 4 hours (execpt McJim that is, with his riding it'll still take him 4 hours to get to puke).

The cost is $100 paid in advance or $130 Pay on the day.

For those that are serious about coming along send me a PM as i have managed to secure us a discounted price.

Discounted price is only open to LEARNERS that will be riding in the slow group at the Track Day and who have been on one of Mav & McJim's learner friendly rides.

I will also make avaliable the use of my 636 for a couple of lucky Learners to have a couple of laps on (conditions apply).

Do not be worried about what type of bike you have i'll be bringing a learner on a GN along. Just remember it's not a RACE DAY its a Track Day, if you have a bike like WarlockNZ (or any form of Honda) that strugle to do more than 60km thats all good cause the idea is for you to learn about braking zones, corner apex's etc .... etc not travel at the speed of light.

So the moral of my ramblings .........

Don't be ashamed of what you ride (Dover isn't) come along and give it ago, you'll love it.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

did a open day on the rgv when i had it.. bloody good fun, only wish i could've done it first on one of these days, hitting the track with the R6's and Duc's doesnt really help you improve

wear full gear and check your bike over before you hit the track (get rid of the mirrors and other bits that wont be of any use), prefferably taping over your speedo as its just a distraction.

i might come along on the gsxr if i can afford it

i think you will find the last one you went on was an open day which means you share the track with cars ......

this is a BIKE ONLY track day which means they have hired the track so no others can use it.

They don't have to have a WOF or Reg but i do believe that they have to be up to a warranted standard i.e. tyres, brakes etc etc

I've just gotten off the phone with my insurance company and according to the policy wording, as long as the track day is not being used as either a "race" or "in preparation" for a race i'm covered ...

    HOWEVER..

If i exceed the legal speed limit (read 100km per hour), i'm NOT covered ... as this would be classed as riding at unsafe speed ... LOL.

I'm going to have to go over to the tourette thread and say some nasty things.
