The low mist seems to be breaking up and the roads are pretty much dry already.
I think it's going to be a hottie.

Well high over head cloud in Queenstown and hot and humid. It is cooking here today - here's hoping it will hold out for the weekend.
I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe.
See ya all on da road. Clear with high cloud and an easterley wind. I'll be lookin for ya!
I met up with most of the Christchurch crew along with SD and NightHawk at Cromwell yesterday. Already everyone is havinhg a great time.
Stromfrau and I will be leaving Alex with the Chatto Creek riders at 10:30. Its a beautiful day in Central, and tomorrow is also looking great. A pity about the heavy overnight rain we're expecting.![]()
Time to ride
The Glenorchy Site 2007
Watch for my report.... (coming soon to a site near you.)
Great ride, great company, stopped the Friday night in Q'town so's the Ch-ch Rabble could have a go on the luge on Saturday morning, then it was off to the rally in about 28degree heat and get KampKB set up.
Met a few more new KBers at the rally, I think the number of Kbers was around 20 or more.
Usual drinking and yarning crap afternoon, usual tat & tit show with a novelty wet-jock contest - winner had a, ahem, a piercing in his 'eye' from which he hung a large yellow bike disc-lock!!idb said he would have been more impressed if it had been the whole bike hanging of the guys 'ole fellah'

Rode from Cromwell (Coromandel in Dangerese) with Night Hawk and FREE2B, both excellent riding companions - no crowding/tailgating and happy with the pace, things were not TOO bad rain-wise until Fruitlands outside Alexandra, then the skys opened up big-time until Beaumont area, got a damp front on my t-shirt from water running down the front of my neck and one sleeve of my jersey got a tad damp. My riding apparel was not the most waterproof
(KB Safety Police would have a coniption if they saw me
) so I was quite pleased to 'only' get that damp.
Winding up drongos, foil hat wearers and over sensitive KBers for over 14,000 posts...........![]()
" Life is not a rehearsal, it's as happy or miserable as you want to make it"
Stromfrau and I stayed at the rally site until the worst of the rain had passed. It was only spitting as we rode home, but one section of the Glenorchy road had thick fog/low cloud. A pleasant 2 hour ride home and a nice sunny afternoon.![]()
Good to see all the Christchurch riders again, and to meet a few new faces.
Time to ride
Great first rally enjoyed the KBers company - shame about the rain and as new rally type people got caught a bit short with the appropriate equipment. A bigger tent and something better to sleep on may have stopped us getting wet. I hate wet sleeping bags.
Looking forward to the next one![]()

Bloody ace weekend ya all.
Left in the damp and got home in the damp, but not actually all that wet, nor was it cold at any point n time.
Ride inland was great, had lunch at Omarama, then headed south to meet the southern inbreds, while cranking up the Lindas a 888 came hurtling down... what ya know IDB's duc actually goes... well spose he was headed down hill so he may have been coasting for all I know.
The group rocked up at Cromwell on time and sat our arses down in the beer garden, the inbreds were already there and what ya know they didn't even have a round waiting on the table for us.
Headed into QT were we split up to our various digs for the night. Into town for a drink or few and a feed, I was amazed that some of the table wasnt arsed out for being so roudy.
Sat morning and after a feed at a over priced shit hole (its how QT has become) we headed to the Gondola and the luge (see pics) but basically I kicked ass and put em all in to the wall and took the checkered flag.
Rode the wickedest 50k in the south Is to Glenorchy were we had a beer at the pub then headed for the rally site... were the usual shit goes down.
Rained most of the night and into the morning but we managed to get packed up relativly dry.
Buggered off to Cromwell for breakie which was a far better feed than QT and 1/2 the price (even tho the bogs were ex prison stainless steel, no seat and the dunnie paper was kept on the floor) said our byes to the southeners and headed north for a enjoyable ride back to were we belong.
Just like to add, as usual thanks to the mob that was there and great to meet the newbees like FREE2B and NighthawkNZ
