Called the Prison again to get the names of those who have booked, numbers don't add up, they have 31.
Everyone has booked under their real names but...Who is Loan Burger?
I will pm two others about their bookings.
I have been through the list and can allocate real names to screen names, to all but four.

Count me as being in for this ride!
I'll head over to Ngaruawahia and be ready to go by 10:30, I'll wait for you guys to turn up for your 5 minute stop/regroup and join you then.
I guess that you guys will be close to 80kms out from your fuel up so as long as I'm similar or less I'll be fine to refuel at your next stop.
Hey Mark you can always join us leaving the Kingsgate at 10.45 (you know where it is) and meet up with the group at Pirongia. Good to have you coming along. been a while since Ive ridden with you. We both have different bikes since then!! cheers

We get off SH1 at Rangiriri, so you could come with that way which basically is just other side of the Waikato River. The a few kms after Whatawhata is Tuhikaramea road, which takes you into Dinsdale.

Could be that one of the extras that booked is keen to come but is waiting to check funds and leave approval before committing. He (or she) probably didnt want to annoy the shit out of everyone with a series of yes no yes no posts but booked just so not to miss out if things panned out. I imagine that he or she would unbook if there were space issues ane could even end up just meeting at one of the stops for coffee or lunch.
Thats my guess anyway, for what its worth. But if that person is stuffing up the planning you should let them know.

Fairly pretty much sorta totally nearly fully almost committed.
The coffee machine is unjammed. The phone, however, is permanently rooted. It's either toilet water or piss that didn't agree with it - possibly both. And before anyone else suggests it, yes I did put it in rice in the hot water cupboard. Now I have a phone that doesn't work and 500 grams of rice that smells like piss. Result.

Yeah I must have... not sure whether that's to convince me to come along or avoid it like the plague though? And I see you have a volunteer that beat me too it anyway.

Admittedly I was thinking about the bike being worked on being a road bike. There are certain things I would never do with someone else's bike that I would do with mine.
Anyway, surely a weekend road trip with no undue risk to the bike would be OK? Can't say I've ever had the occasion to find out first hand.

As far as I am concerned the ride is now full. As for the prison? I was speaking to them on Saturday and they were thinking of moving one or two out of the single cells, and in with some who have extra room.
The single cell rooms are not the best apparently.
The Cape ride has a limit of 24 and gets booked up pretty quick.

Just want to double check your route Maha? You list Okahukura Saddle Rd for Sunday morning to Taumarunui, instead of the more usual River Rd. Just checking, as I'll run the rest of the route on Saturday evening to check it for you (looks like a mint road too).
Was noting, as the Saturday route doesn't include the deviation from Rangiriri...
Um yes, that map is so wrong , don't load that into anything
I will set to and put the real one up later..
But off at Rangiriri and River road (SH 43) to Taumarunui

Open source maps are pretty inaccurate in that region, so that's also on my imaginary list of roads I need to explore (except that it's a whole region). I went down Ngatoto Rd South, just north of Purangi and barely got back out when I struggled for grip up a steep clay section...

You need a key cut? it can be twisted back and used with pliers, but getting one cut is probably best, 40kms in 30 mins? yeah doable but I need to be there earlier so will have to keep going..

Something else you could do to help your new key would be to take the lock apart and lube it up with some crc or lock lubricant. Just be careful of the springs and ball bearings

Yet another wonderful weekend away with the Angels. New friends to make - made. Old friends to catch up with - done. New place to visit - absolutely, I have the card to prove I have been to the Ohura Cossy Club :sunny:
Things I have learned;
Clambering up on the back of Marks Bike in a jacket far too big for me, with my hand/claw combination gets progressively harder every time you do it. I would have expected it to get easier with practise
Waikato fog is friggen freezing! Brrrrrrrrrr, that would rank up there with the coldest I have been on a bike, serves me right for not wearing enough layers - just one more was the answer :baby:
We live in a beautiful country! What magnificent vistas the King Country provides - stunning scenery :not:
King Country Truckies and Horse Floaters have zero respect for the centre line, luckily I can give the universal hand signal really well on the non claw side :innocent:
I prefer the sour lemocello to the sweet one, Moreporks eat moths, and bulimia IS as rude and irreverent as I remembered him from the "Naki trip
Marks Jacket IS fully waterproof  His pants however are not :(
Luckily I was not wearing his pants
More after a feed...
Mind you, speaking of feeds, that trough at the Prison was bloody beautiful!
Thanks for your company everyone. See you on the next one.

A certain bike rider who wishes to replace her L plate with a sign that reads "If you are going to ride my ass, you could at least pull my hair"

Sunshine all the way through the Naki, rain and mist in King country and more sunshine when I got back to the Naki.

I have a similar issue with my zx10, I have only ever managed to get about 13L into the tank after the light has been flashing for 20k's even though i supposedly have a 17L tank.
I wonder if that 17L is without the fuel pump and with the tank completely filled so that it would be spilling over the gas cap.

My specs say that I have a 22l tank. When it ran empty down the hill I could only squeeze 20.66l in. Maybe the fuel uncovered the outlet as I was heading downhill. Well at least I know that I can do 50kms from when the last bar starts flashing.

He was just protecting us from the locals lol. Damn country bumpkins. :p
I just want to repeat I had a totally awesome time. Keep remembering checking my mirrors and seeing a trail of bikes in formation behind me and then looking ahead and following perfect lines round corners. Was awesome!!
So who wanted me to make limoncello? Provide me the vodka and ill do the rest. Only payment is that I get to keep the excess. Which depending on how sweet you want it is only usually 300-500ml or so.
