Fuck there is going to be a lot of bikes on this ride

Can someone please put up a list of applicable information, such as:

- Approximate Distance
- Any additional costs (such as Ferry's, Tolls, etc)

I don't really care about distance or anything like that, but it is good to have these things in mind.

Fucktobulastafarehiastic.

Well at this stage there won't be any ferry crossings like the last times BUT ya never do know.
Might with a few other carry on through to Opua and catch the ferry to Russell and blast down Old Russell Rd... time/weather pending.
Without that extra addition I'd guess that there'll be an 800ish-km ride but there are places to peel off and pussy back...oooops...I meant cruise back to Jafaland along the way(as long as others are informed so we don't go looking for ya)

You have a good point there Swanny, using the '2 groups' might have a blessing in disguise. If we send the fast group off then give it 5 mins it should give us a big enough gap at the other end eg: Petrol fills and lunchtime orders..........It's gonna be a bit of fun  but we will have to take it as it comes on the day ;)

Thank fuck for Hyosungs incredible mileage capabilities. With an estimated distance of 800km (suggested by Mr. TL Rider aka "Pink Socks") I will only need 2 - 3 fuel stops dependant on how fast I decide to ride my bike; warp speed or hyper terminal velocity.

Can I suggest the place we stop at for lunch be notified that 40 - 50 motorcycles will be rolling up? Maybe they'll provide us with a discount

Not trying to but in or anything, but food is important (to me at least, which must be obvious  )

I was charged $3.50 for a pie today ... what a national disgrace !

What happened to the days of $1.60 steak and cheese pies.

EDIT: Just to put things clear. My previous post suggested that the amount of bikes attending be used to the groups advantage (i.e. Cheap food).

On the last ride, when custard had his crash,Sharkys had to get another staff member to come help with the food orders & there werent that many of us.
It would pay to give them a call.
Also have you got the main stops sorted?Maybe Paparoa, custard corner, dargaville (for quick gas stop),sharkys(lunch),opononi... something like that.

who leaves first? slow or fast?

1) fast leave first wait 10 secounds then slow group heads off. when we get to a destination slow group arrives five minutes later or less.

2) slow group gets a 5 minute head start. fast group possibly overtaking the slow. or we all turn up at the same time. causing conjestions, petrol problems and or food.

so i take it senario 1 is the go?

WickedOne

1 would probably be the go....

From NZ Met Service website (Monday 11:09AM)

Friday
North Island, rain or showers spreading to most places, possibly with thunderstorms, then clearing in the north and west.South Island, rain clearing and becoming fine apart from coastal showers in the east and south.

About right there mate. Trying for longer rides between stops so the gap between groups should open up nicely therefore causing less stress at gas stations etc.
When arriving in Paparoa if all Jafas could go and gas up as they arrive it would make things smoother.
There are two main gas staions in Dargiville which will reduce congestion there.
From there Opononi/Omapere...

Weather has been MINT here in the past couple of days so here's hoping it holds out for an awesome ride this Sunday :blip: :sunny:

TAKE NOTE ALL TIMES ARE AN APPROXIMATE DUE TO SHIT GOING WRONG ON THE DAY/UNFORSEEN REASONS.

Auckland (Qkchk and Custards group) and the Southern crew (2much's group)
Meet at Westgate Shell (at the end of the North-Western Motorway) @ 8.30am. Hopefully we will have the Southern crew there waiting for us. (There is a McDonalds right next door for those who require a feed) Gas up ya bikes/buy drinks/have a smoke and talk shite. WE ARE LEAVING @ 9AM SHARP! It's gonna be a long day so we need to get going on time! There will be a breifing on the route taken.

Proceed up SH16 to Wellsford then onto SH1 up to the Mangaturoto turn-off. See attached map. Take a left at the Brynderwyn Junction, follow SH12 to Paparoa. When we arrive 10.30 - 10.45 @ Paparoa you will be required to gas-up ASAP. This is where we will be meeting up with the "Northern Crew" (TLRider's group) You will be asked for a 'donation' for the organised ride.

Approx 11am we will head off in two groups. The FAST CREW will leave first with the CRUZERS following behind after a couple of minutes. Hopefully this way we can space out the riders went it comes to gas stations and food stops etc.:scooter:

We will visit 'CUSTARD CORNER' and see why it's called that. After the 'unvieling' we will continue on til we get to Dargaville @ approx 12.30pm. Gas-up your bikes then we head off to our lunch destination Baylys Beach which is approx 15mins ride from Dargaville. From there the Northland crew can give us a brief on the next portion of the ride. We are keeping this open-ended at this stage, Im sure TLRider will have some bloody good roads for us to explore including the Waipoura Forest.:doobey:

The route displayed on the map below differs from where we are going. Its a only a guide to the areas we will be visiting.

Here is all the up to date details read carefully:nya: :nya:

It is a Legionnaire figurine made by a U.S. company.

My friend who is a para commando in the 2eme REP of the French Foreign Legion sent it as a gift, along with a kevlar vest and a bunch of stuff.

One of only two people I'd call a genuine friend. The sort that not only helps you create dead bodies, but dispose of them as well.

We're on the countdown to Sunday and from what I hear everything seems to be coming together nicely. Thanks to the efforts of a lot of people behind the scenes and the great leadership of Qkchk and her partner in crime Custard:rockon: TL Rider is busy putting my gear shifter back on which will be handy:innocent:
I thought it might be a good idea if we stuck a big bright sticker on the back of the jackets of the riders who know exactly where we are going on the day, (TL Rider already has his sussed:blip: ) then, if you dont know and spot one of us at least you'll know you are following someone who does know, not only where their going, but the road too.
We will be riding through Paparoa Road on the way to meet you Jaffa lot so we will know exactly the road conditions to lead you back through. If anyone is travelling the Whg-Darg Road, the Darg-Waipoua Road; the Omapere-Kaikohe Road or the Old Russell Road please let us know the road conditions as these roads are all some of the choices for the day.
The ride for the Jaffas will be about 1,000kms, if we do the full loop. Did everyone know that New Zealand is 1600Kms long as the crow flies, so we are all just riding around in little circles up here then I guess:chase:

Ya going down Otaika Valley Rd? Cause they just ripped up the tarseal for road widening at the Maungatapere end today.
Ok so we have sussed this out. We will still go down Otaika Valley Rd but take RiderinBlack's reccommendation and take a detour up Cemetary Rd which will add an extra 10 awesome minutes to our ride, oh well:yes:
Tomorrow I will do some photocopies of the ride from Paparoa to SH14 which is where all the main 'weaving of backroads' will occur. Hope this will help those who arent sure. Before and after that area, really straight forward..
Lunch is organised at Sharkys:rockon: Burger (there' big), chips (good helping) and a quart we are told for $10:done: it's gotta be a good deal.
It would be awesome if we could get a good line up pic at Tane Mahuta in the Forrest too:grouphug:
As TL Rider said, the ride can be as big as we want it, there will be plenty of places to peel off and head away and the best road will be at the beginning and middle of the ride (well the end part is pretty good too, in fact its all awesome, hell, round in circles I go again).

ffffffark...

Ride a CBR929...used about 9 or 10L/100km today I think. Was just flicking in to top gear for most of the straights too (still throttle fairly wide open though). Think my next bike may be a 600, way more sensible for the road.
