Hi Guys,
one of the reasons, apart from the hangover, I wasn't overly keen to go up to Mt Cook on our trip weekend was that i was going up this way to ChCh for Christmas.
So as you day wasn't quite perfect for Mt Cook photos (and ours was) and by the sounds of things you weren't interested in slowing down, let alone stopping, to take photos, I though I'd share this one with you.
The memories and friendships of this weekend will live on for a while and I'm really disappointed not to be catching up with most of you at the Glenorcy rally but hopefully there will be another time.
Cheers
Bruce

Looks awsome..............looking back i wish i had gone on the ride to Mt cook but i for some reason felt very ill..in fact very very ill......i stopped in kurow for vitamin c......ie orange juice and considered riding back but a couple of minutes after drinking said juice i was convinced that going home was the best thing..... :innocent:ive found that the colour of my bike doesnt promote any feelings of physical well being the morning after either.......

Are you in Bronz Otago - sounded like from previous posts you are involved there somehow?? - I am hoping to do the TT run to Galloway and also looking ahead to this 45th parellel run but there's not much info on it in the bulletin and the email address they have for it has bounced back to me. You doing either of these? and can you tell me about the 45th run? Thanks

I am a bronz member (but I don't go to any of the mettings or anything) also a member of the Otago Motor Cycle Club and more involved with them.

I hope to be going to the Vincent County Rally on the 2-3 of Feb and the March Hare Rally as I promised to take a friend up with me. I have to cut back on the rallys as such trying to buy a house with out success :-( need to save $$$

Don't know much about the 45th Parallel

Nothing to do with sheep mate - its an old rugby saying, derived from the selfish bloody 1st fives who never bloody pass. Used to say - when you're finished pass it on cos someone else wouldn't mind a turn!!!! - ie there's plenty of others who wouldn't mind a strop on your bike, with a hangover, in spite of its colour!!!
Cheers

The scariest thing would be the threat to accumulating demerit points!!!! Thanks very much for the offer - I have always wondered what it might be like to ride something like that even though I'm sure its not something I would want as my own bike. Once you've got used to the relative boredom of riding the Transalp beside me you might start to realise there are other things once the body gets sick of the crouch!!! (might need a few more cubes for you though!!)

I know how you feel, I feel the same with the VTR for the same reasons, I haven't done huge distances on the VTR But I find it comfortable enough with a short break here and there... (usually at the fuel top ups ;) )

I will admit I never test rode a TLS so I can't really compare. My theory is every has there own comfort zone and riding position what you find comfortable I may find it totally uncomfy... blah blah blah

where did you get the wheels polished on the VTR.....and how much..?

NighthawkNZ
29th December 2006, 21:26
I bought it like that the last owner done that... They do look kewl... but means you gotta keep them clean... which well I don't really mind :D

I only added the bubble fairing wheel hugger, scott oiler and Heated grips oh and pack rack

Mate, the Storm is luxery compared to the TL, mind you I am talking about the series2 storm which had taller clipons and were 15* less rake, but still the series1 was more comphy than a TL.

next mods you need is clear indicators and a set of cans

ps: I sold the storm last year

Nice piccies there Skyrider - but why did you have to get them to pose behind that bloody Ducati - you know what this will do to his bloody ego!!! Everywhere there is some posing that thing just seems to keep turning up!!!!

Everyone wants to to be seen with the Duc for some reason.
Perfectly natural I'd say.

And don't worry about my ego....I know how good I am!

There's a message here for you from the Arrowtown library - apparently they want a whole lot of books on building self esteem back, you've had them so long you're nearly into fine territory - oh and apprently there's a very rare one you have about self esteem for fragile men unnaturally attached to flashy toys (does the Duc vibrate????):Punk: :done:

FWIW my little VTZ250 I took down there had it's handover today. I rode the sucker all the way to Kaitaia for a mate. Agreed to slap on a new tire and Mt Eden give me a Pirelli. Beautiful but pricey.
Only thing is I'm getting a bit tired on the bike. I started December 1 with 49000 or so and handover 56500 equals a big month. I just find I wasn't as comfortable at speed. Maybe those sweeping south island corners have gotten to me!
Actually I think it's time for a kip - plane in 14 hours. I'll be buying a new bike in next 10 days so I can start this madness all over again. The trip is likely 25000 kms so here I come! :Punk:
