Would it be worth doing a regular weekly weekend ride during the colder months? Or am I being silly?
Get in touch with some of the clubs. Their are weekend rides all the time. On Sunday there was about 35-45 bikes that all went to Hamner together - PMC, CKMC, SGC, Fred's Busa club (name..?), few friends of friends and some KB people. Some us have been getting some club on club action as people start dropping off with the winter coming weather. Always good to be out with a new group in amongst your own group.
Nice ride, few even went for a swim. Really really warm in Hamner.

So did anyone actually go for a ride last night? I turned up at the carpark but at that stage there was only 3 of us.

LOL! ahh well.
I almost don't understand the mentality behind
(Insert poofter pom accent here) "By Joe it's raining!, I shan't go out today for i might get wet!" -_-. *chuckle*
I've only got one years riding exp under my belt, and i love nothing better than going out, having some fun, coming home soaked, and curling up in front of the heater :) ahh bliss ;)

And the big questions is are we going to have a ride this week ? Metservice says fine but we know how accurate that is sometimes.

I'll be showing up if the weather's alright. Might well be the last night until after winter, though...

Like that plan. I know my roster will make it hard to do many rides and some will not be able to make it at all :(

I'm planning on going along tonight. I'm not sure I could make many weekend rides if we switch it to weekends but I'd be better off if it was Sundays.
You going tonight JM? Gotta talk to you about this spanner night Wayne's sorting out

Dont you go starting vicious rumours like that, repeat after me there was not a shiny sliver bike there tonight that looked remarkably like a Ducati ST3, honestly there wasn't.
As for having it take the lead until the wheatsheath turn off.
Great ride tonight, shame about the lack of numbers but I appreciate some folks don't like riding in the dark so please have a look at this thread (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?p=1535025#post1535025) about the discussed maintenance evening

Sorry all, had planned to be along tonight, but the wee man is sick! Fever and cough etc etc, so no "hall pass" tonight!!
Glad to hear there are a few brave souls still out there though!

I wanna see some pics of your new bike JMemonic.
Anyone keen to head along to this (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=72187) as the destination for the next CWNR?

Welcome, happy to have you along.
You did fine. It isn't easy getting comfortable with riding, finding out what lines work for you, how the bike feels through the corners, gradually increasing your cornering speed and lean angles etc, when a) you don't know the road, and definitely b) when it's dark! Motorbike headlights aren't too flash generally speaking, so it takes some getting used to even on the roads you know. So bearing all that in mind, you did pretty well :)

That will make for a good ride, BK to the Media Club :)
Why not get a group together and do the Chomdeley run on Saturday with the other 90 bikes? Last year was great.

I unfortunaltly have to pass this week.
Having just transerfered to a new store I found out today that I have a manager meeting at 7.30 on Wednesday.
Not cool. I was really looking forward to seeing Phil Garret speak about his experiences.

As I understand it there is no ride tonight however several of us will be attending the talk to be given in this post http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=72187.
Given the weather forecast for today this looks to be a great option for a night out, regardless of your personal feelings towards other members and their personal disputes this is a worth while cause and should prove to be an entertaining evening.
On the topic and personality's that are drifting in from another event where there appears to have been some misunderstanding, please keep it out of the Wednesday night rides and sort it amongst yourselves, this is a social and fun way to fill in an evening and get out on our bikes as a group, I for one would like it to remain so, and have no one feel they are excluded due issues outside of this particular event.

Ok people. I think we can call an official close-down to the Weds Night Rides for winter. This doesn't mean you can't still turn up if you want to. There may still be some who want to ride. Go for it.
However, this week will will begin the Chch Maintenance Evenings as being organised by JMemonic and Wofman. See the details here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=72248)
Edit: Wow...1111 posts
