Ok I dunno where to put this but its directed at females. Me and a couple of my friends were talking in the weekend over some drinks, as you do we started talking about sex. The ages ran from 19 to 36. Anyways many of the 30 and overs said they were having a sexual revival and found themselves thinking of sex ALL THE TIME and no longer (many are single) looking for partners just one night flings. I was laughing bacause I find my self looking at men and just wondering hmmm wonder what he would be like and I have never been like that before. (Im 31) I dont wanna date em, I dont even wanna talk to them I just wanna see. God is that what men are like 24-7!
Is this an over 30 thing? Even if your in a relationship, kids etc does this happen to you, or am I and do I just hang out with freaks!
We came up with this in general of course
Teens to 20s. You do it cause ur spose to and prob for all the wrong reasons.
25 to 30 you actually like it, know what you want and are not scared to ask any more and try to get yours before he gets his
30s your just over the sex is for love and you just wanna bone and get off cause now u know how and are totally selfish and for once you finish first and fall asleep snoring. You also hope hes not there when you wake up.
40s.....there were none so I dunno.
Tell me your ideas....

Hmmm I have also been wondering this myself as my 'appetite and kinky mindedness' has certainly 'increased'...I just turned 30 in October and funnily enough while I have always 'liked and enjoyed it' I have never felt quite so 'up for it' as I seem to in the last couple of months.
Having babies certainly dampens things for a while - my boy is now four so I wonder if it isn't a little about I finally have caught up on sleep enough to have the energy to be interested or maybe it is my body clock asking for more bairnes... Either way it's lotsa fun and I seem to be totally over the - it has to be about the love...i know we love each other now lets just
GIT IT ON!!! In saying all this btw I have never been the one night stand girl - I don't just root, there has to be a connection for me to be remotely interested in letting someone in my knickers. Right I have bared enufff...back to pretending to get some work done

Agreed. Im not either never have been...... but I think about it alot as of late and thinking just pops into my head from nowhere and out of the aprox 10 single women (2 of the over 30) took home and I presumed bonked guys under the age of 25....haha
These are smart very attractive educated women I have known for years and never seen them this way.
ok so Im quite a normal over 30 year old......

Yes exactly. When your under 30 you hate that concept but it looks like over 30 thats how you want it.....
If your not in a relationship of course.
Even if you are you STILL think about it

It's definitely an over-30 thing.
All the women around that age that I've dated and/or shagged have been randy as anything. The young women (late teens, early 20s, etc) are generally a lot more frigid. They may claim to like and/or want sex, but when it comes down to it you can tell that they're really not all about it.
During the course of my one long-term relationship I noticed the woman in question develop a huge additional amount of sexual awareness and desire between 17 and 27.
Something to do with hormones, probably. The girl plumbing just seems to work better once it gets past a certain age. Beats me why. Probably all in the mind.
Women are weird.

I dont think that if your 35 attractive, have secured your career and been to school most of your life to get your masters degree and decide to get laid by something very beautiful (and he was) means your a slapper.
Besides I dont care about people sexual escapades, I dont judge my friends by them. I judge them by their friendship. As long as they stay the fuck away from my man :)

Ok, since you are asking so nicely and the boys are being prats (for a change :p), I will put in my 0.002c worth:
I am no nymphomaniac, but have always thought about and practiced sex on a very regular basis. I probably think about sex more often than most women I know (maybe even guys), or probably more often than they would like to admit to.
I am comfortable with my body, my sexuality, and it has always been the case.
However, it has become even better in the last 2 to 3 years. I'll turn 32 in March, and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, or simply with the fact that 007XY and I are very compatible in that way.
I have never really been one for one night stands (although one a few years back), but that was simply because of certain trust issues I have.
If it gets any better coming closer to 40, I might have to start stocking up on vitamins for my poor darling

Thanks.
I had heard about it as a rumour. I wouldn't worry about it. Heck, you're healthy if you enjoy sex, even if it is on a daily basis. Doesn't make you abnormal in any way, even if society has been giving everyone that impression for generations.
Embrace it, have fun discovering...but I don't need to say the word "safely" of course. The stats on STDs are terrifying these days.
Bloody Mad Woman (BMW)
8th January 2008, 16:02
Gotta agree with Mom - jesus I always hoped my sex drive would lessen however the more mature I've got the worse - I need the opposite of viagra.
And what is wrong with a confident, sensual woman going out and getting exactly what she wants. Absolutely bloody nothing. The wimps can cower in their corner and go without. I can easily do sex with out the love bullshit. I was told the other day I was a rarity. Good. Cos if I had to wait until I "loved" a man (finding one that could actually match me would be a miracle) then I may as well enter a convent.
I don't consider myself promiscuous, or a slapper and I know I am not. I enjoy sex plain and simple.
Think I better put both feet back in my mouth now. LOL

Away from the original question I know. But I look around and see 50+ yr olds doing it more often and enjoying it, than 20-30 year old's stressed out, bringing up families and holding down 2 jobs, trying to pay off mortgages.

Stress is definitely a factor in a lower libido.
Except when you see sex as a stress release, then it's all good!! :2thumbsup

BRING IT ON!!! I am loving my 30's and have to say we women are hitting our prime about then. I had this conversation last week and we came to the conclusion that we are Confident, Know what we want, not worried about what people think of what we do and love being us in the body we have. Thats a package that attracts men (too many for me to know what to do with ) and hey, if you love your inner self then you are lethal!
Like i said 'Bring it on' its life and we only have 1 shot at having fun! Make the most of it :woohoo:

Believe me, the couple of weeks of sore nuts are well worth the years of happily unobstructed intercourse.
(Only to be safely engaged in post-STD-testing in stable exclusive relationships, of course.)

I have many fond memories of women in their 30's. They start way back when I was about 18 and continue right through until about 8 years ago (Megan is responsible for that 8 year gap). Women in their 30's are the most fun if you ask me, mainly because their attitude to sex, relationships etc is starting to gel with what guys want. In my experience they're finding it's more fun because they're ditching the baggage that surrounded sex when they were younger and they're also making up for lost time :niceone:

When you are older I guess you have kids so too busy, maybe just bored of the same panto........I dunno..........I have to admit that much I loved my ex, sex was too organised (well she was an Accountant) and not really spontaneous.
Now at 45, I have been in a relationship for 11 months with someone I have always been good friends with for 7 years...she has 2 kids so busy and we may have sex twice a month but quality beats quantity everytime......:msn-wink:.............I enjoy saving up:rolleyes:
Anyway, that's all I have to say

Well what a very interesting topic of conversation.
In my teens it was all about experimentation and learning a few techniques for later life. To be honest I was very lucky and I wa living with a 32y/o biker when I was 19 and he was very experimental and taught me A LOT!!
In my 20s it was all about the meaningful relationship but sex was still up there as a major part of it. I was having a discussion with a male friend in his 20s the other day and was advising him about how I perceived women of his age based on my own experience. To be honest in my 20s I went for the guys who treated me like shit, but were hot in the sack. I LOVE SEX and I guess I am like a bloke in the wanting it 24/7. However........
In my 30s I wish that I had kept hold of one of the good guys from my 20s, noone in particular but just a guy who knows how to treat women. I am not into one night stands but never judge anyone who is. Sex is still BLOODY important to me but a good guy and a nice relationship to go with it is what I would really like. I will always be a horny goat and if I can find a guy who can keep up with me and who wants a committed relationship then bingo.
I think that women are becoming far more sexually liberated and that the demands of a successful career and taking women away from relationships and many women are going for the sex no strings because they have enough responsibility in their vocation without having it at home. I don;t know how others in their 30s feel about this, this is only my perspective as a 34y/o woman.

Agreed but dunno if youve read the whole thread. Its not about one night stands at all that was just a side note that people flew with. Im talking about from what I see with my friends and other women over 30 is that they think more like men (cept grahemboy ;) and all of a sudden find themselves more aware of the sexuality of the opp sex and in general think of sex purely just for sex, and men as sexual objects, more than any other time in their life. Notice THINK not act.....Now mom says you peak at 40.....Im just curious about other women and their experiences. As for the last comment you might be onto it. They have had so much responsibility and pressure from school and jobs etc its really (around 30) the first time everything settles for them............hmmm Ill pass that on again next Sat and see what the word is.

Men have always been our sex toys we just have never admitted it before!! It is just now we are no longer prepared to cook and clean etc for them!!
I have always though of sex for sex but that may have something to do with the fact that I don't want to have kids. Not sure if others feel like this though.
Maybe women are more free to do what they want in their 30s/ 40s as they are happy with who they are, where they are etc etc.
Beers was good, has a laugh-FROSTY!!!! If I am not baby-sitting this Sunday I was going to try and organise aother session as I leave on Tue night, would love to see everyone before I go.

I dunno why the heck I'm posting here but - as an observation....
A lot of women seem to gain a great deal of confidence in their late 20's and early 30's both professionally and personally - sadly it's about then that they suddenly realise the stud muffin rebels they used to prop up their lack of confidence earlier in life is really a jerk (and now loosing hair and putting on weight)..... The divorce rate seems to go up about then too... Sadly the good solid dependable chappies are then a little thin on the ground but since their biological clocks are not quite ticking loud enough to keep em awake at nights - they release this new found confidence as energy to be burnt up in nightclubs or learning to scuba dive or something... (usually something that gives them access to hopefully single men)
Later - it can change again.... BUT we do live in an age of personal choice and increased vitality so there is no reason why a strong woman cannot enjoy a healthy sex life for yonks - go for it i say!
Many of you have said love does not matter - my own experience is the opposite. Love matters a great deal to me but first you have to believe in both love and romance. Look at my taste in bikes - they are choices of love - not common sense and that carries over into my private life - love amplifies lust into something else and I thank my lucky stars every goddam day that I enjoy the love of a fine woman who accepts me and my love in return.... Some people need a new lover and a new bike every season - others love to know every curve, every shade, every nut and bolt in intimate detail and funnily enough - it never gets tired or stale - in fact, at this rate I think i shall die not of old age but from pleasure...
I could think of worse things...

and still ..... a lot of us that are a 'tad':eek: older already knew what we are like and didn't need a TV programme to show or tell us.. I would not like to hazard a guess as to how men think about women, but there have been a LOT of changes over the last 30 years or so and I for one would be seruously surprised if men generally still think we are (still) prudish across the board.
Perhaps we have just socialised with different types of men then.:niceone:

As a 36 year old (until Friday, turn 37 - nearing 40 - which might be a really good thing if mom is right!) I can definitely agree with trump-lady. I think about sex a lot more now than I ever used to. Differently to her though, I don't eye up 25 year-old hard bodies and fantasize, I just (as has been pointed out to me) treat the entire day as foreplay - foreplay with my partner, or thinking about my partner. I've been this way for the last six years - it was like a switch was turned on when I turned 30 - I was in a dead marriage but when it ended two years later whoa baby! For me it was also about confidence, achieving at a high level career-wise, earning decent money (shame that has an influence, but independence can't be underrated) and knowing I can hold my own in a demanding profession. These things have been historically, predominantly, a male preserve - maybe it's because we women are now experiencing the power and confidence that was solely mens, that we are experiencing the horniness that goes along with it! I know we're up there with the heart disease and stress related health issues too...... but sex is good stress relief. Sex, good red wine, and good dark chocolate. I'm gonna live forever!

Ladies you've hit it on the head with one word "confidence".
When younger it's is my bum fat, will my pimples go away by weekend.
Then after a couple of kids, useless husband/partner,the penny drops when you piss off, then start to enjoy the later start in life(30-40).
It's easy to get out of a marriage than say 30 years ago,no stigma, hence more confidence in yourself, can bet most 80 yr old nanas would agree sort of about thinking about sex as they got to 40,just they were not supposed to say it lol.
Had a one nighter with a friend (brother's girlfriend),(only thing was I felt robbed lol) she said you ready for bed, pretty well to the point. She was about 31-32 me 38,she had seperated from her partner about 4 months prior, her attitude was if we need it,why can't we get it.She was secure in her thinking, that she wanted sex, thought about sex like most guys did.

This is the actual quote - (and I love it)
“Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand – strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming ‘Woo hoo – what a ride!’”

If it isn't then you are doing it wrong!! Sex is the most natural thing in the world and with the right person in the right relationship it is pure bliss. But sex should never be used as a weapon and men as much as women do use it to get what they want. That's the key to it, bikernimpho - sex is SO natural. For many of us I think it takes a while for it to be accepted as "natural" - having been raised in the shadow of Victorian disapproval. Perhaps it's as much about achieving independence in a financial sense as it is about independence in an emotional sense, and breaking away from those entrenched beliefs. Women seem to grow an awful lot, personally, between 30 and 35 - some of us anyway!

Oooh and have to share a story - two bikers out on New Year's Eve, riding around Tauranga/the Mount, no kids, no responsibilities, endless night, full tank of gas. They park up, lie on the grass, gaze at the stars, philosophise and navel gaze - life is generally grand. Mobs of teenagers walk past, jovial and jolly, banter is exchanged with a few groups, until one gorgeous young hard-belly yells out "yeah, bro, go for it - give it heaps". Bikers laugh along .... then the hard belly adds a post-script ... "yeah, bikers, hey, you're never too old to do that shit". The comment was so well intentioned that at the grand old ages of 36 and 41 all the bikers could do was laugh and hope their incontinence pads held up .....
Seems even though we women might think about it more often, the youngsters will never accept us actually acting on our thoughts! Might have to resort to the measures we employed in our youth ... bike sheds, sand dunes, bushes, cars ..... ooooh sounds entirely fabulous to me!

"For me, love is very deep, but sex only has to go a few inches."
"Just saying 'no' prevents teenage pregnancy the way 'Have a nice day' cures chronic depression."
"If sex doesn't scare the cat, you're not doing it right."
"Sex always has consequences. When Hitler's mother spread her legs that night, she effectively canceled out the spreading of fifteen to twenty million other pairs of legs."

enjoy!
At the very young age of 50, my lady and I are more active then we were in out 40's but not quite as active as we were in out 30's
With no adult children to disturb us , the ones that go " ewe mum keep it quiet"
and the only spectators at home being the little Dog and the Parrot , sex has regained its enjoyment and fun.
Ok so things have a tendency to have a gravitational pull, skin tone is a little different, hair colour is either grey or from a bottle but!
the eyes dont change, and they are the windows of the soul...
The enjoyment is better, as it is more relaxed, the intimate dinners, secret spots in the public arena, naughty week ends away at holiday spots are much more fun. Even skinny dipping under a summer moon...
ROFL Because the perspective is that we are too old and respectabile to be doing THAT!
Yes I do agree that women are not the house keepers of men anymore, and that is a good thing.
Cooking my own meals, washing my own clothes, spending my own money (finnaly) are all part of the enjoyment of being a individual, which makes for more fun!
Its time now, that we explore areas of sex, that were not possibile before, because joints and backs etc are not as flexabile, so finding new positions becomes and everlasting enjoyabile game.
Sex does not stop at 50, it mellows like old wine, soft on the pallet and much more enjoyabile.
I dont expect that we will stop till it is a physical impossibility, so for you young men who think that you need as much as possibile before it wears out, Dont stress, because stress will be the thing that stops it.
Girls, there really is life after 50, but dont wait till then
You Ladies who have all the wonderfully naghty thoughts, they are not naughty at all! , they are just reminding you of who you are.
A highly sensual being with strong natural urges, that should not be bottled up and hidden because of the ""Moral Standings" of others.
We have the freedom of choice, and just like we ride bikes, because of the freedom it gives us,
the freedom to explore our sexuality should be our own personal choice.
We should not be governed by rules and fears forced upon us by thoses who only think that the risks involved are not worth the enjoyment gained.
Of the social standards that come from years of religious suppression.
Like a bike, always SHOULD be remembered,
Make sure the rubber is in good condition,
because its all that seperates us from a accident that will change your life.

Successful sex is not about yourself. (unless you are masturbating)
It is all about studying your partners needs, learning what they want and how to do it for them, time after time after time.
When they want it, how they want it, how fast they want it, how slow they want it, the list goes on and on.
When you think you have worked it all out, start again and approach it all from a completely new.....well...whatever!
The opportunities are endless! (and rewarding)
Fantasies are just our ability to think outside the square and dream up new ideas.
Enjoy them, they are fun but can go quite pear shape when you try to introduce them to reality.
Be careful, there can be high risk involved the more inventive we become!
Like the best cowboys, they are the ones who get off their horse, drop the reins and the horse doesn't run away!
When the cowboy moves away, the horse follows him.
Why?
Because it wants to be near him, their relationship has been too good for either of them to want to leave it, they are partners for life.
Why mention horses?
Because women and horses are very similar in their loyalty, love and affection.
love, respect and appreciate them and they will always be good to you and return it in spades, abuse them, or that trust and they can become your worst nightmare.
Work on your relationship always, you only get out what you put in but of course, nobody said it would be easy. Good luck! :sweatdrop Cheers John.

Men experience their peak somewhere between 18-22, just in time to mess up our concentration for college. While women reach their maximum sexual velocity between 35 and 40, right about the time that men start losing theirs…nice. Is this God's idea of a cruel joke?
I mean, how are we supposed to take advantage of this?!? I don't know how many of you were an 18 year old male, but I can't see too many of them having the savoir faire to entice a woman twice their age into bed. As for a 30 something women looking to hook up with a man in his prime, she's pushing her chances with the law.
I can't help but think that both sexes are being cheated out of great, earth shattering, teeth-clenching sex.

I could think of worse things...Right on the money. If just sex was what it was all about then I'd use sex workers rather than have a relationship.
For me, I have had a better sex life in my 30's and 40's. This has been because the Women that have been my partners start to value guys like me better than they did as teens (when all they could think about was getting it with the "popular" guy). Also I had gain more confidence in myself.
As for sex, for me, if ya want me ta "get it up", then it helps if ya make me feel wanted. Ex-wife found that out the hard way. After months of turning down my advances, she decided that she "wanted it". Too bad she had chosen a night that I was dog tired. She had not put in any "fore play" ether. Just lying in bed and decide she wanted it. What she got was "Ya making me feel like a dildo", which went down like a ton of bricks. The moral of the story is: "If ya want ya partner ta want you, then make them feel wanted". Works both ways. Guys are not "up for it" 24/7. Timing and atmosphere does play a big part for us too.

Smart arse MOI??? Never...
I have many found memories of women in their 30's. They start way back when I was about 18 and continue right through until about 8 years ago (Megan is responsible for that 8 year gap). Women in their 30's are the most fun if you ask me, mainly because their attitude to sex, relationships etc is starting to gel with what guys want. In my experience they're finding it's more fun because they're ditching the baggage that surrounded sex when they were younger and they're also making up for lost time
:headbang:Go Megan!!! Interesting aspect on the subject. However, I would
doubt it is making the entirety of it. I strongly think there is a hormonal portion, which is something I'm pretty sure has been already scientifically proven. We girlies "peak" our sexual prime in our 30s. Our bodies see to that by releasing greater amounts of hormones, turning us into little hornbags :first:
Gosh! Don't ya just looooooove Mother Nature??? :woohoo:

Tried that...it's lethal and I wouldn't recommend it to the unitiated...something a little off putting about finding yourself entangled in each other's limbs and a netting material, with a sudden hitch you can't reach and mozzies attacking tender bits, which are by then even further out of reach...
It just showed what we are really like!!!!
We who? Sorry, but I didn't identify with it that much...Gave me lots of giggles though.
I can partly see where you're coming from with some of these statements, but I can't totally agree however. I've never thought of men as my sex toys, I've never seen sex as a baby making process (although I have a son), seeing it as such I am told would be a sure fire way of killing the passion. But eh, that's just me...I'd hate to generalise too much :innocent:

Wow what a cool thread... my 2 cents (on a fav topic of mine)
Sex is no contest... for some reason those that want it more seem to have some sort of status accorded to them whereas a high libido simply means just that, an individual has a higher libido.
Ultimately that would be coupled with:
Self confidence
A caring partner of similar libido
A partner as adventurous as yourself
Low libido couples can have happy lives sans (or with very little) sex... and that's perfectly fine. If that's what meets the needs of both parties there's ab-s-lute-ly nothing wrong with that. Just as others can go at it till their respective connection points are rubbed raw, they're gasping for air and totally dehydrated.
If you are happy with your lot then that's good... but to repeat my assertion - it's no contest. Wanting more (or less) sex is simply like wanting more (or less) potatoes in your diet. If you do it at the exclusion of everything else, and/or the express expense of others it's unhealthy, but getting enough (whatever that means) of a good thing is just that... a good thing!
So... anyone out there looking for a meaningful one night stand with a married white guy?

Well that never happened in my marriage. My wife was quite a sexually happy woman when I first met her (at age 24). After the first child things cooled (as you'd ecpect) then after the second things cooled again. Going from 3-4 times a week to eventually once a month was not good. I think she had her libido removed and buried in the back yard. Thank god there were other problems otherwise I'd still be trapped!

Well Trump-Lady yr original questioning was interesting and certainly got me thinking.
And if what I am about to say has been said already well apologies but my break is nearly over and its a long thread!
I reckon 'thinking about gettin some' is in direct ratio to 'how much you are actually gettin' !
And then theres the quality factor... I ALWAYS check out the hands and if they don't measure up then sorry not even gonna bother...no matter how much I like the guy or how horny I might be.
I'm in my 30's now and have had a few men, some good in bed some useless and a couple phenomenal. Problem is when you have had phenomenal you really can't be bothered with ho-hum...and the size of the hands/fingers has never let me down!
As for a sexual revival? I reckon sex is definately better in yr 30's than in yr 20's cos you know what you like and what HE likes.
As for 40s and beyond...oh yeah! bring it on!

I am getting some, as much as I need (the benefits of young dumb and full of .... and theres always the other alternative because I give it to myself the best) and as you havent read the thread (it is way to long with to much bs) but the question I was asking is do women become more sexual at 30 and over because I have been thinking ALOT about sex and not wanting to do every good man I see literally but thinking...hmmm wonder what hed be like/wonder if hes got a big short little pretty or veiny one. It appears from this thread that YES women have a hormonal thing that kicks in and makes us think nasty things that we really didnt before. Mom and some other over 40s say you peak sexually at 40.....Im scared Ill be a rapist by then! Im not acting on my thoughts but watch out when Im 40

Hmmm, let's see. Where to start?
Well, firstly: what makes you more apt than any other guy on KB in witnessing the veracity of such an event?
Secondly, what makes you think I would be in any way encline to select you rather than anybody else?
And last but not least, we (women in our thirties) are old enough to know better. *smiles sweetly*

Ok, I'm sorry...no seriously, I am.
So what about this? To take up on your original idea...we have agreed it would seem that a lot of women over the age of 30 are experiencing an increase in sexual appetite.
Does it also involve a change in the type of men they are attracted to (as in being attracted to younger guys than the usual preference) , and / or open mindedness towards new and more "adventurous" sexual practices?
No examples really have to be given, but it would interesting to see if there is a pattern.

Now, to stay on topic...Cos you boys are just all over the show :bleh:
I'll start to answer the new angle I presented on this thread:
My criterias for physical attraction in men has definitely changed since I neared 30. I used to be attracted to guys with dark olive skin, black hair and blue or dark eyes.
Now, I get weak at knees when I see my gorgeous hubby who has light bronze skin, blue eyes and blond hair.
Also, the body type I have noticed has gotten musclier and a bit taller.
Now, this could be due to the fact that I took a very strong physical dislike to my ex who used to fit the first description. I don't know, but is a drastic turn around.
In regards to being adventurous...heck yeah! I've never been scared as per say, but it is more the ideas that come to mind and the willingness to give it a go that has changed.
And that's all I'm prepared to say on the matter. Right! Who's next?

You didn't answer my question, though.
OK. Well last year, at band camp... I briefly saw a man who was all about anal. All the time. Part of his persuasion was that his ex, an older lady, was all about it too.
So my angle when I posted yesterday, was whether it is purely a preference thing, or whether, as you get older, things like anal sex become more enjoyable. I know people have noted here that older women experiment more etc.
I guess the subject is a bit rude and personal for some. But I'd have this conversation in person too, FWIW.

Ok, so we've established that some women get more adventurous as they get older (you know who you are, you saucy thing), how about the menfolk?
I work in a 100% male environment for weeks at a time and as seems to be the way many jokes and conversations gravitate towards the one thing none of us can get: sex....(er, involving another person that is)
I recall being astonished when a work mate piped up that once every now and then was fine with him. Just scratch the itch and get on with life he reckoned, couldn't be bothered with anything flash, no "Batman costume jumping off the wardrobe" for this guy. I envy him in a way, life would be so much simpler without the little head talking the big head into "sticky" situations (excuse the lousy pun).
So, how prevalent is it that a womans sex drive actually overtakes their man's? All of a sudden you realise that you are the one doing the chasing instead of being chased, does it affect how you feel about your partner? About yourself?

I can't say I've ever had a set criteria that had to be met or that particularly appealed. Sometimes you see a curvy Selma Hayek type woman that ooses sensuality, other times it's a hard bodied althlete that looks all lithe and lovely. A young woman in the full bloom of youth may catch your eye, but an older woman can have a knowing smile that is equally as enticing. Bronzed beauty's can be stunning but so to are those displaying a more porcelain perfection.
Nup, I can't say I've ever had a type, it's more how the sum of the parts (including that indefineable "something") come to gether as a whole.

 Good spotting, although I was refering to a type in general...The greater majority of individuals I seem attracted to at first glance, if you know what I mean.
But yes, I fully agree that I would find attractive different people on a case by case basis as well. It is not ruled entirely by physical attributes alone either...
For example, I find Anthony Hopkins mesmerizing, but it is entirely due to his charisma and presence. A true gentleman and someone that would be more than able to hold a conversation is so very appealing.
And sometimes, it is just a fantastic smile which does it for me, where everything else might be considered average by other people.

I used to be quite rigid in my tatse in men when I was younger, they tended to be tall, dark skinned and had dark hair (muscles were a big bonus). As I have gotten older and hopefully wiser I have found that it is mostly about the personality and if they can make me laugh then wehey.
Now I find that the old 'should be this and should have' criteria has disappeared. if a guy sparks me with his wit, intelligence and is kind, sweet and respectful that is of more importance than wether he is tall etc etc. Amazing men come in all shapes, sizes and have various backgrounds and so long as they treat me well that is the main thing!
