I took the carb out, gave it a good clean, doesn't seem to help, still can't get it to idle, it only starts with full gas, as soon as you let go of the throttle it dies. Tried adjusting the cables. didn't help.

Anyone have any ideas, or want to lend a hand?

Sounds perfectectly insuitable to me..

You're gonna want one of the 110cc jobs (which you'll need a motorcycle license for).

Clicky clicky (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Pocket-pit-bikes/auction-153542615.htm)

If you've never ridden before.. you're gonna wanna pick it up quick. It's by far no easy ride to get to the cape and back. S'pecially on a mini chopper.. good luck mate.

I have just confirmed accommodation for the journey. We have been given a special rate of $20 per person per night at a "mysterious location" in the far north (North of Houhora, south of Waitiki Landing).

The accommodation cost includes linen & bedding (sheets, towels, pillowcases, pillows, duvets, blankets) which will be washed for us after we leave. The venue can accommodate 15 - 20 people depending on how we arrange things. (For higher numbers some people would need to sleep on sofas etc.)

The venue includes a fully equipped kitchen but we need to supply all our own food. We can discuss the logistics of this a bit closer to the time, once more details of the trip have been organised.

I'm getting excited!

Just to clarify. Sorry if I appear uninformed but rather than go through 35 odd pages of posts, is a GN250 [oldish one] considered to be crappy enough for the task at hand? Cos I just scored one, going, but needing work and now this event is starting to sound real interesting!

You need to PM BigDog or fireball to get a special dispensation as a GN250 is such a powerful and sophisticated machine! :Punk: But I'm sure they will let you tag along on condition you promise to carry some essential supplies.

I'm doing it on a ginny, but i'm handicapped by my sheer size  and being a designated packhorse. Try for an exception, plead your case and see how ya go

Big Dog

What they said.
Exceptions are exceptionally easy to get.
Just give me a reason, any reason.

Keep in mind they are more guidelines. IF it is in in the spirit of the event you will get approval.

Big Dog
12th May 2008, 20:40
I have added the following to the original post.
Added 12/05/08: Please note the above are guidelines not rules.
IF you are complying with the spirit of the event then you will be given approval to bring a bike that does not meet all the criteria. Just give me and Fireball a reason. It can be logical, emotional, comical, downright illogical it does not matter just has to be a reason other than I want to do it on my normal bike.

If you want to bring your ordinary bike and you would need your full license to ride it or your bike is not inappropriate enough you will need to sponsor another rider.

Please stop trying to change the rules it is defeating the purpose of the challenge.

Red Baron have a rental that might suit the purpose...
If is for learners to sit their test on but I doubt they care what you use it for if you rent it for three days.

I am in the process of getting another A100 on the road ... if zeocen isn't riding it, then I guess it might be spare for another mad CCCer to utilise it!

Its exactly the twin of Pippi! :scooter:

I've ordered in some new parts for it to get it road worthy! Just need rego and wof once done!

Well I would be dead keen, but trying to secure a ride seems nigh on impossible as I have 0 budget.

The VTR isn't too much more grunty and I could ride sweep or provide a rescue pillion service.

looks like i am going to have to pull out, i didnt want to but it seems i can not find a bike and as the orginiser it would be wrong for me to do it on my 250

so unless anyone out there has a bike i can use looks like you guys are on your own.:bye:

Hooray, finally I got dispensation from the Board of Trustees and the Principal to do this CCC ride! :sweatdrop

So now its all bona fide, I'm going to go full steam ahead and start prepping Pippi and myself for the trip! :woohoo:

Hmmm also have to pick up the other A100 this weekend as well!

Woot?
I'd certainly say Rawberry is an appropriately inappropriate beast for such an intrepid journey. Plus we cant have the organiser not come along after all the effort!

Due to health reasons I'm not able to go on the trip, I wish I could! But my a100 should be all sparkly and running by CC rolls around.
You're more than welcome to take the a100 as your bike on the journey!

Can't have the organiser without a bike for the adventure now, can we? :apint:

I'll probably be Donor's apprentice spannerererer on the day anyway, incase bike bits fall off any of the bikes!

COST: There will be an entry cost to this event this is yet to be decided on the amount and all funds go into the kitty to be donated, also at this stage we anticipate some costs for food (beers and BBQ) and accommodation for both nights or if there is a friendly biker out there that doesnt mind letting us sleep on your lawn or paddock for a night drop me a line.

Has the entry cost been decided? I need to know if I can afford to go... got the 250cc west cape tour the weekend before this.

Everything that needs to get her up and running is already ordered and cheap as chips. After that it just needs wof/reg and it's all go. gijoe1313 reckons it'll be all ready well before the ride date.
You're doing a big job organising this, it's only fair you have a bike to ride!

I'm considering just pulling the rear spark plug off, cos the VTR runs like a dog on one cylinder

Hey boys and girls, just a quick note from me.
I'm currently workin down in New Plymouth all week for the next approx six weeks, and have no cellphones and no KB access on site, so am out of contact. I am still in for the challenge no matter what, and no matter the cost (as i'm sure there will no doubt be a week or so before a final hurrah of "who is definitely in", whilst i am out of communication)

I will (as currently planned) be working down there the week of the challenge, leaving to drive back to Auckland on the afternoon before. But rest assured fellow adventurers, i shall appear through the mist and fog on yonder morn' to take up the challenge, yarr! (why do i always think pirates when i think of adventure ho? hrm, i really should see a shrink...)

Pip pip cheerio! :sunny:

Sorry folks. I have to pull out.

Just spent a week and a half in Wellington, and my bank account has taken a pummeling.

Massively gutted.
