LEAVING TIME IS 8:00AM.

Damn that's an early start...

I'm on the shore, I see a few others are too - anyone interested in meeting up over this side first?

Yep I wouldn't mind meeting up with some other North Shorians first before going to BP Autobahn, it'll be really early though, like 6:30am or something.

Well on Saturday someone was doing burnouts in the middle of the road, riding up and down the single lane onramp to SH1 at Pokeno, stopping in the middle of the road, etc.

Any time mate. Best practice is taking off from lights around town, i usually get the front wheel off the ground just a touch when goin hard :) (or to that point where it's still touching, but steering doesn't do much, all light and feathery)

Na , they are overpants. You put them on top of your normal pants or jeans or leathers. There is armoured waterproof pants I saw in Holeshot today but they were $300bux so i said - f++K that. The ones I'm getting take like 30 seconds to put on. really handy. Weill always carry them together with my waterproof lollipo jacket. O I'm wearing my lollipop jacket on the mornings now, so i'll be bright and visible for you peeps . got a high viz vest for my pack rack too. got a spare high viz vest if anyone is interested. If someone wants it for the ride , yell out now.

Hey guys,

I wish you all a very enjoyable trip. I was gonna come down and see you off but my cunt of a boss has decided to open shop on ANZAC and scarper off on holiday, so that's what i'll be doing.

Wish you all the best of luck and I hope it turns out to be as fun and enjoyable as the last one, I'm sure Todd (as long as he gets a few pointers where he's going) will once again pull through as a great leader.

Bitch about the weather but hey, it's winter folks. Shit happens.

When you come back on Sunday drop me a text and we could go to a pub and share a few beers. I'll keep in contact with Todd over the weekend to find out who's binned, so remember. News spreads fast..

Have a good one guys :niceone:

To everyone who is going to be joining us - its a tour , not a race. ride your own pace. Nobody Bin , you hear me , NOBODY.

Everyone take the numbers of your inscurance companies and their tow service if they have one. you never know.

P.S. Guys REMEBER to get your clear visors in case we happen be caught outside after dark.

So... care to share with us where we could find these overtrousers?

Blackwoods Paykels, Ororke Rd in Penrose. Apparently they had some more there (that i didnt see at the time), but they were like 6XL or something. The 4XL's i got fit comfortably over a pair of jeans on ME, so i think those 6XL's would be a bit big for you mate ;) :D

Are they armoured?

Nope. If you want armoured waterproof pants, go cordura. It's what i'll be riding in tomorrow if you wanna check em out. Soft armour in the hips, solid armour on the knees, big zips all the way up the legs (great for getting them over biker boots), waterproof as anything, and good abrasion resistance (not as good as leather of course, but more than enough for round town) Set me back 120 (i think) from motomail, they had to order me in some man sized ones tho :bleh:

Gave my bike an oil change and a clean last night, and managed to scrape some of the crud off the exhaust from the last tour, so she's good to go. I'm a bit worried tho... i started hitting 2nd gear wheelies today
My first Coro loop! :woohoo:

Highlight of the tour , I gave toto my gixxer for a blast .. he takes off like a cut cat liftz wheel , rounds a corrner exceeding all bylaws and meets a cop mid cornner , Well he had stopped de mounted the gixxer and was making his way for the tall grass b4 the cop could even blink ! ....

Now i think i managed my mission to wheel stand ever where, scare small children and woman , say Yes plz 10001 times, get a date from sum random back packer girl , shreed a tyre, ride from whakatne to cycle treads with my bike ant Break neck angles , Even filled cycletreads with beautiful Tyre smoke !

Well my baby just got a post trip check over , and sum new feet !

you went past me i was doing approx 140ish i then speed up and sat inches off ya rear wheel and held that position for least 5-10 seconds where speed leveled to 207 but at that stage you had de throttle for the slight hill then reapplyed the throttle that kinda leap frogged you ahed a few feet ! So i guesstemated it at 214 as i had to accelerate to 215-220 to recatch ya but my speedo at that stage was fluttering , as wasent holding speed ,

Ps, my speedo and my navman gps speed scensor are with in 1kmph of eac other so i know for a fact ya hurricane can do 207- 206 !

Ok , just got back, as after I left you falks at PsychoTreads I decided I hadn't ridden enogh for the day so shot off to Papatoe and back.

The trif was primo. I loved the whole lot of it. The company was fantastic and I was very pleased to see you guys who came on the last tour come again. I was kinda sad the rest of you couldnt make it but hope you will join us for the next one. O yes there will be another one. Not confirming anything as of yet but leave your Queens Birthday Long Weekend (5 juna if I'm correct) free :D

Highlights:

*Doing the whole coro loop was just awesome - hadn't done the whole thing for a while (more than 2 weeks). The twisties going to the lookout are always a nice warmup. Badger , you should also do that part backwords , its a whole new world of fun.

*Having a ride on the GSXR10000 - man that thing has some balls. First thing I did was to stall it as I was so nervous about starting it that forgot to put back the side stand. Started of in first, twisted my wrist 3cm was doing 97km/h in a 50k area and trats forst gear. Just got out of 50k zone - 2nd gear - 130, thirs gear 169k, 4th got up to 221 but that was by accident. Every time I pulled the trottle the bike surged ahead, whick pushed me back, which caused me to pull the trottle even more. Took me some serious effort to slow down.I think I broke the sound barrier on a couple of ocasions. I was doing 137 around that corner when I spotted the cops - I was thinking that will be a hefty fine, but luckyly was not. Was shaking from the adrenaline for about 30 minutes I had climbed off the GSXR. I cant get a 1000c bike tho - I don't have the willpower to keep my licence for more than 3 days or do I mean 3 hours. Big thanks to Kyle for that.

*Going for a night time Stroll with MusicMan and ChocolateWheels into the darn, and on the gravel again to get to the sacred maory lookout place. Did some burnouts there. I tried to kidd the giant maory gods ass, but unforunately I wasn't worthy as the ass was too high up for a small white man to kiss :killingme

*Doing the gorge on the way to gisbourne was godlike - we really had a nice pace going trough there.

*Going to the East cape Lighthouse - gravel is my friend now, I can almost keep up with ChocolateWheels on the straights. Imma get me a GN and go adventure riding. :)

*3 hours or so of night riding yesterday to get back to whakatane. Those windy roads and so many 35k corners were quite a challenge in the dark. It was so cool. Had a few hairy moments but it was a huge learning curve.

*PocketCracker talking to Brass-Trebles parents ( not knowing who they were)--> QUOTE "Right, I'mm of for a shower and a wank, see ya" - saying it in their faces. That was a priceless moment. :devil2:

*Coming today back to auckland in the pouring rain was soo cool for me - was wearing my waterproof gear and had good tyres (not like Kyle ) and was warm and dry. felt untouchable :). Will ride in the rain any time from now on :)

*Going to PsychoTreads, going over the bridge we had a cop company who was wating for Pocketcracker or Music man to do somthing but they were good boys and copper was left empty handed

*The burnout at PsychoTreads was cool :jerry: got a vid but gotta figure out some blurring issues and will post it up.

Big Ups to Gordon who came with the van and was our guardian angel. He is the man. I hope We will meet you again and will have the chance to buy you a beer or a box of. Your are the man Gordon. :niceone:

It was a great ride, shame i couldnt do the gizzie bit but oh well ... the corro loop for the first time was scary, exciting, awesome, everything! I think I went through every emotion on that part of the ride. Looking forward to doing it again ... one of the highlights was definately Kyle's shit story, every time I smelled something funky on the ride back I wondered if it was coming from the side-ways gsxr I could see in front ...

Thanks Toto for organising and huge thanks to Gordon in the van! What a legend!

Looks like you guys enjoyed the rest of your trip! Cheers for having me along on the first day, was a lot of fun. Haha that fog was interesting heading to Kopu! Gotta love the coro loop only part I could say that wasn't amazing would be the twisties coming up to Whitianga, they ones where the road is like falling apart. My front slipped out a couple of times through those corners cause it was getting air! Damn scary!

Ha, talking about roads falling apart, heading back to Auck via Miranda shit there's some shocking parts, Shingo, Badger and I just cruising round the corners and suddenly there's a massive kinda hole in the road measuring about a square metre! Managed to (just) avoid the damn pit.

Hey Badg sorry bout leaving you once the motorway began, just really wanted to get home ay lol had damn sore legs.

I must say, it only takes one trip into Auckland via the motorway to see how poor the driving ability is... Saw several cagers blindly changing lanes, swerving back into their lane when they realise a car is already there, people not letting others merge, useless indicating (or none), and 1 million people barely watching the road.

Anyway, cheers guys!

The roads down the coast are stunning if a little treacherous, big dips mid corner and stuff. Im sorry I missed the lighthouse but had a absolute blast going from Te Araroa to Opotiki, apart from the stock this has got to be one of the best roads I have ridden, 160kms of sssss. Huge day in the seat might need to upgrade the CBR seat squab. Cheers for the vid Andy(i need to get my taillights going)

Yeah, there were some interesting patches on those roads alright, amazed we didnt have problems in the morning with all that fog and holes

No worries about leavin me behind, the poor ol ginny struggles a bit doing 110, especially up that long hill just as we hit the motorway. Besides, once ya hit the motorway there's no more wrong turns for me to make :D

Saw more than my fair share of bad driving on the way home too, but my highlight was passing two other guys on bikes (one a ZXR250, one a CBR250), go the mighty GN power! I dont think they could believe they just got passed by a GN, and tucked in behind me for the rest of the way :2thumbsup

Thanks for another awesome trip! Kudos to Toto for organizing it but also to Pocket for his burnouts, Musicman for letting me ride the Zeal, Justbeginning for giving me a run for my money on the gravel, Bass-Treble for an epic GN race (until his chain broke ) and to all the other guys that came along!:niceone:

Oi, Pocket, we need to find a long, straight and dry road so I can try your GXSR

Can't wait for the next one!

Loved the engine, hated the ergonomics. Just couldnt handle the peg position.
Just made me realise how good of a decision it was to go for the mighty GN! :2thumbsup

The roads down the coast are stunning if a little treacherous, big dips mid corner and stuff.

that sort of stuff doesnt scare me so much anymore, just ride it out and shell be right kind of attitude works well for me.

Yeah, it was really weird, first time i've ever really had it like that eh. Just was NOT feeling it all afternoon. Stuffing up corners (especially entries) real bad, and messing up shifts etc. Didnt enjoy the run over the hills back to Kopu like i should have, just concentrating real hard to make it through in one piece with a car up my ass that didnt wanna get past. Was just glad to get home and get off the bike (:shit: never thought i'd hear myself say that!) Was bloody glad to have some company for that return trip eh, thanks again Rob and Shingo! :niceone:

The cape reinga tour was great on the other hand, got better throughout the day, every day, and was really in the groove the whole way, was awesome. probably just as well i didnt go the whole way then

All good man I was just cruising aswell, didn't feel as into it either for some reason, Shingo took that last hill hard it was good to see! Lol that's why I opened it up on those first few long hills, to get a bit of a gap before he caught up and overtook! Man that sun on the way home was pretty terrible huh, glad I had my tinted visor ay! Bloody Shaun managed to get his sunnies outta his pocket and put them on while riding, I couldn't work out what he was doing ay haha!

I remembered the downhill section heading back to Kopu well as i chased a white Harley through there on my last coro loop. I was keeping up with her too apart from the straight bits, when a twist of her wrist would open up a huge gap bloody quickly.

Plus i knew they were the last corners before we hit the boring straights heading through Miranda and sh1.

Putting my sunnies on was fun to do, almost dropped them a couple times. But i got them on in the end, even though i had to let go of the bars for a bit to do so.

All up it was a good ride for me, best part being the hill heading towards Tairua. Rob set a nice smooth pace with myself, the guy on the NSR250 and the guy on the hornet (sorry forgot your names) following. Many will disagree with me on this but i like that hill the best and will be going in the opposite direction next time.

I used to, but found the sunnies cut down on my peripheral vision a lot (had to screw my head riiiiiiiight around for a proper head check), and were too dark when ya rode into shadows. The tinted visor i find is good in 99% of situations, but there's not a lot you can do riding straight into the sun :(
Have been caught out a couple of times after dark without my clear visor on me, the ol eyes water a bit on the ride home. And now heading into winter, the face freezes up a bit :pinch:

My glasses wouldn't fit in my helmet without killing my face so I grabbed a visor, damn nice on the eyes, I wear it most of the time and love it. Enjoy being able to give cagers a stare when I'm annoyed and they can't tell what I look like... Uncertainty = Fear :devil2:

Glasses can get uncomfortable on longer stints (depends on the glasses tho i suppose)
Not such an option for those of us who wear prescription specs (tho i try to ride with contacts as much as possible anyways)
Less glare / odd reflections (i found them at certain light angles with the sunnies)
absolutely zero blockage of vision (again, will depend on the shades)
no crafty angles for the light to get on your eyes directly (again, depends on the glasses)

Personally, i find it a less distracting and more constant tinting of the view, which allows me to concentrate more on the road. Every part inside the helmet is tinted, and my eyes seem to adjust better to it.

Best suggestion would be try someone's lid that has a tinted on it (or pinch someones visor who has a matching helmet), and see if you like it. Personal preference i guess

I'm not atall a meanie, but it makes an unbelievable difference to other peoples attitudes toward you when you have a tinted visor. People give you a wide berth, dont mouth of at you so much when you split past them. And if someone pisses you off, just point your helmet at them as if you're staring daggers and watch them STFU :2thumbsup

The pace was such that each corner just flowed on from the previous one. Have you ever read that article called "The Pace"? You pretty much followed that apart from the small uses of the brakes.

Tinted visor also means I can ride with glasses which is convenient.

Oh I didn't hear about that one! The first night it was falling asleep on the side of the road on the bike, then waking up right outside the backpackers which wasn't there before, and the second night it was going into tight corners way too hot and slamming on the brakes (at which time he supposedly hit the bottom of my bunk, but as I was sleeping I didn't feel a thing).

Good pictures guys, but im sure theres 1000 more floating around that haven't been posted.

Pocketcracker, Im sure Toto deserves a mention as he was with us most of those speeds on gravel until his drink bottle fell of.....

Thanks for letting me hop on the back and if you dare to we can swap bikes for a few kms, just be gentle on the little thumpster haha

ChocolateWheels, you even stated that you were faster on straights and I was faster in the corners so we still haven't decided the fastest one.
Did I just say too much?

Will look forward to seeing you lot again on rides, what a great bunch of people!

Looks like an awsome ride, well done Todd. Nice organisation. We'll have to go to the pub some time to sort out our next ride aye mate, I don't think there is a west cape and definately not with any decent roads.. but i'm thinking down to Wellington or a whole West Coast tour. Unfortunately i'm gonna be out for bloody ages..

This whole business is not looking good.. Me with no money, the guy who hit me doesn't look like he's gonna pay anytime soon. And it's all just not good for me.. Though i'm glad you guys had a good trip.

Have you got the cops onto it man? Is the dude ever gonna pay up?

Yeah, i've got a police report and all the rest.

But it ain't the cops that get me the money.. it's the disputes tribunal.

And to enter a case I have to get more of his details (just his REAL name and his home phone, I have the rest, and the cops said they would go get that but my phone line was down today so I couldn't check..)

I rang his mobile the other day to get the details but as soon as I said who i was the cunt hung up on me so obviously he isn't gonna make it easy...

My theory is when I finally get to court he ain't gonna show, so then he'll be required to pay me $10 a week.. which for 4.6 grand is probably gonna last near enough the rest of my life..

Life's shit..

Bloody hell, that's rats arse mate! hope the summons and the cops knockin on his door etc are enough to scare him into showing up to court. Little shits like that often get a scare and suddenly cooperate when they realise they're not gonna get away with it.

That was the cornering dream right? If you have that dream again just don't slam on the brakes, power through them!

I kept tensing up before the corner and whacking my head into your bed lol!

Na he told me about that one with his bike being stolen by a homosexual bear, or was it the one that it was stolen by a transexual beaver ?

Weird dreams that boy has. Choco , remember in your dream to chain the bike to something with the chain I showed you today in PsychoTreads.

Which dream was this?!?

Oh I didn't hear about that one! The first night it was falling asleep on the side of the road on the bike, then waking up right outside the backpackers which wasn't there before, and the second night it was going into tight corners way too hot and slamming on the brakes (at which time he supposedly hit the bottom of my bunk, but as I was sleeping I didn't feel a thing).

Yes, he has some weird dreams!

Tents are an option, and we will get a :mega: to help wake up process :)

I forgot to mention another higlight of my trip: On day 3 everyone was awake except PocketCracker so I go into his room and get next to him and shout as loud as I could GET UP .
