I often see people advertise that they are in need of something, in the Bucket bits 4 sale thread.
Too keep the original Buckets bits 4 sale thread nice and clean. Maybe we could use a new thread. (E.g this one). To post if you need a specific part or Service (welding etc).
Please structure your posts, as i know most people are after things.
Services Available (obviously for some $$$ but not much):
PM me if you have something.

Now that I think about it, zxr = USD forks. I'll bring a GL guard instead, it mounts in the traditional fashion using a plate across the crown of the guard.

Basically you can do anything as long as the bucket doesn't fall apart and this resembles a motorbike with the legal capcity etc. Some Kart tracks have specific regs however. pretty relaxed tho.
Questions Answered
1)No rules about cutting etc/welding just make sure it doesn't fall apart
2)Yes there are bucket motards
3)Yes you need a exhaust. But that can be a piece of tubing/home made. As long as its not stuipdly loud.

My bad - the image was just for illustrative purposes in case there was some fandangle terminology for 'gear linkage' I don't know about... what's 'fandangle' anywho?
Actually, anything remotely gear-linkage-like that I can bolt, bend or weld into place so I can turn my reverse-pattern into regular pattern shifting would be great...

You could make your own simple one. By rotating the one you already have on there but make it go the other way and then bend it around to suit/extent it if need be.
Will look rather interesting but it would work.

Na, It will need another pivot point.
If you can find a standard lever, assuming the footpeg is still right for it, you can reverse it easy.
I fucked for time at the moment but if you know someone with lathe and welder access you might be able to get one made up.
I can give you the diamensions.
the longer rod is easy enough to make, I could probably do that if you give me the diamensions but it will be ages untill I can get to it.
Learning reverse shift is probably easier.
You will learn to love it, the key is to kinda make a positive mental switch into "bucket mode".

Yeah, I'm coming to that realisation myself - it should be easier to make the transition now that the bucket's my only ride. Still, there will be definitely be some embarrasing "RIIIIIIIIIIIING-A-DINGDINGDING!!!" when I inevitably change 'down' when I mean 'up' during the transition period - watch out
Keep an eye out for any loose linkages lying around tho' - I will aim to set it up at some point, just maybe not in time for 15th / 22nd... Cheers :niceone:

Lack of thinking on my part. Duh!
By the end of a day at the buckets. You should roughly be there. Like Koba said its actually fantastic because you can go from road mode to race mode in your head easily with backwards gear shifting.

Can anyone help out/sell me a set of points/condenser for a Yamaha RX125?
I got nutty and rebuilt an A100 set.
Its a bit fidly but it can be done, I am on good terms with the local Repco staff and got them to find a set of points that the contacts and brush matched the A100 best, It was a set for a Mazda RX3.
I grafted the mazda bits onto the original A100 set I had...
It took a fair bit of careful work to sort but works ok.
I was going to graft another condenser on by heating the old soldered on one off and relpacing it with a new one (ford laser coz it was the cheapest) but the old one was good enough.
Its alot of pissing about but OK if you are stuck.
Maybe try buckets and bits for proper RX125 ones, I will also ask a guy I know who has owned many little yammy 'strokers.

for no apparant reason my current nylon front just slid out at what had to be a 5 degree lean angle at 5km/h. I'll admit they were cold, and are bald, but it was dry... Hope that doesn't happen with these "vee rubber"'s... They aren't that bad are they?
That does sound somewhat exagerated...
Th best slicks in the world will be totally shit once they are ten years old, have been thru a million heat cycles and are totally bald.
I would say try the vee rubbers, I am sure while they are not the flashest they will be miles better than what you have got.
Once you can use average tyres to their potential then start getting into he flash ones.

I had wanted some spares for my Motorcrosser and bid for two sets of gears and a reed assembly.
The first picture is JawJoes auction and the second picture is what I received.
I asked about the condition of the gears and was assured they were fine.
I placed my bid and duly received one set of mangy gears and no reed valve.
I rang him about it and the tenure of his reply was "whinge, whinge, shop else where as old joe takes no prisoners"
If you received less than was pictured and described in the auction would you feel ripped off? I do.
He has eight red faces, three blue and many not completed sales, I should have checked before dealing with him, silly me.

Buckets must have:
• Plugged handlebars.
• Folding or nylon footpegs (kart track racing only)
• Anything that could mark the track must be nyloned over or bungs added to prevent them touching the track (kart track only). These must be very secure.
• Wired sump and oil plugs.
• Adequate front and rear brakes.
• No broken clutch and brake levers .
• Must remove side stands or wire them up and nylon protectors.
• Must have secure attachments for all parts of the bike.
• No dangerous attachments.
• Have no excessive leakage from fuel caps.
• Have all lights and mirrors removed.
• A catch tank for any fluids that might leak or overflow such as crankcase or gearbox breathers, float bowls etc.

Hey all, i'm in need of a complete GL145 gearbox (gears, shafts, selector drum yolks and star etc) or stuffed bottom end with all this intact for my daughters bucket that were trying to finish. The mechanic that was doing a 'perk job' on the bottom end for her has "LOST" our gearbox. :bash:
Yes.. im pissed but, its not worth a second visit from the cops over it all!
Can anyone help us out?
Ta
Andy
I've got some GL145 bottom ends too - PM me with what you need and we'll see what we can sort out.

Im looking for a few parts for my ax100. I am in dire need of a coil. Have been told by the wise skunk that a rg50 coil or the likes may do just the trick. Or any suzuki coil with an internal cdi. so if someones got one they would like to donate or get rid of for cheap i would be muchly interested. Cheers.

Talk to Bryce from Bucket and bits. He has suggested to me the Suzuki 80cc quad have the type that'll work.

The right footpeg bracket on my FXR150 is cracked right through the metal (see photos). It is also bent. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? I don't want the standard Suzuki part as they always break easily (Dellorto tells me). I would like to retain the standard peg and brake lever if possible.

The trick seems to be to get one made out of 10mm alloy plate. There are a couple of guys at Mt Wely that have had them made but the two I've spoken to are both out of stock at the moment. I'm planning on getting some plate and getting busy with the hacksaw and drill when I get a chance.

Yea they are not that hard. Min are actually more complicated than they need to be. I made them with the intention of being adjustable but I set them in one position, rode it round and thought year that will do and they have never been moved since.

We're going to try and straighten it and if it doesn't Skunk said he may have a replacement, so that should be sweet.

Hey there, you can rock down to your local bike shop and buy a generic clutch bracket and lever for 20 odd bucks.

Just check it has mirror mount if you need it (too lazy to look for an FXR pic). But any wrecker will have a suitable one if no dice at shop.

Oh yeah completely forgot about that. Fair point. You only need a mirror on the right side legally anyway!
Henk

Doesn't need a mirror mount.
I got some cheap emgo lever for the bucket at one stage, you can get the GP short number that is less likely to break if you drop it again for not that many coins.
Any aftermarket lever should do, doesn't need mirror mounts or idiot switches from memory.

Hi to all Auckland FXR bucketeers. Does anyone have an unmolested GSX-R250 rear wheel that they are planning to have machined to fit the back of an FXR150? I've acquired one that's already been machined and has had the appropriate bearings fitted, but one that hasn't been machined would actually be more suitable for my purposes. I would be interested in doing a straight swap for a suitably straight item. Feel free to text me on 021 963-280 if you want. Tim

As I've found in the past, the new lever has to have the same shape as the old one:
if the distance from pivot to cable is too short you don't pull enough cable to disengage the clutch fully - and if the new lever is going to hit the bar sooner than the old one it's the same problem again.
In the past Henderson yamaha insisted this wasn't the case and wasted a good half hour of riding time and even tried to sell me a new clutch cable (which would achieve nothing) when frosty had the right one for half the price just down the road.
Looking for this FXR part yesterday only the parts boy at colemans knew this, but quoted $130 to have the genuine part shipped in. Everywhere else didn't know this and tried to sell me more reasonably priced levers that clearly weren't a match

Ahh but this is the buckets thread so I'll assume you mean a '68 twin with the breadbox & knee pads. Sorry all out of those.
