Hey Spacey, try Waiotauru Hut in Goggle Earth. Odlins Rd is an old logging road on the east side of the summit carpark of the Akatarawa Waikanae Rd. Shucks now you have the info but the tag is still safe from the roadster gang :innocent:

Or try Waiotauru rd as that is the official name of the road that appears on maps, it is also marked as a private rd. Probably odlins were the company that owned it, I can remember driving a month old ford station wagon in to the summit in the mid eighties, plus going in on the back of a truck for a S&R exercise.

I would not be the best just of what is normal or strange, but the location of this tag has been annoying me for too long .... and it was foot power only :apumpin:. I wasn't going to risk my 4x4 by taking it up there at night :)

And the track looks really neat. I plan to go back there again when I have more time and daylight and have a good ride around the area. If you can scrounge a dirt bike from someone we should go for a hoon up there !

Well i went for ride today,Gladstone Road off Tararua Road .I could not locate this tag.Looks like they had lots of bad weather recently
First pic is the closest i could get from my obviously poor memory.Gladstone road is a dead end (pic3 gate padlocked) and just before the dead end is this track.On the way in I passed the water works.I wonder if the tanks hold the chlorine for treating the water?

If they did, they should have the UN number, Hazchem code and a very large Orange Decal warning of such. Being so close to the building etc, this wouldn't be Chlorine...

Well I had a look up the dams behind Shannon at the weekend, and then continued on through North Range rd, and back down the gravel in the Wairarapa. Only thing I saw up the dams was a lot of logging beside the road on the first half, and some Sections for sale about 5km in on the gravel. Oh and a Police car just after the turn off for Tokomaru valley road.

Think this tag might be in the Waitarere Forest somewhere?
