Boring stuff about your boring life.
It's been a month since my last ride, except for a quick jaunt up to Palmy and back for a seminar and a few commutes. I was supposed to go on a Ulysses ride to Pongaroa and Dannevirke today but as it was my daughter's birthday, we rode up to Rotorua to see her instead. I was supposed to go by myself in which case I planned to do the Waioeka gorge up and Paraparas back, but at the last minute, Ann decided to come and 800Kms is too much in one hit two-up, so we did the Forgotten Highway ...
Some of the family came down to Wellingrton last night and we went to the last show of Cats, at the Opera House. It was a great show and we had a big ride today, so it was a Berry Berry Nice weekend. (I say this because for part of the ride today, we were joined by Dick Hubbard on his Beemer). The ride was departing from the Plimmerton Weigh Station at 0930, to go to Hunterville for lunch and I took my son Lance who is visiting. We were up before 0800 to get ready and on the road ...
The annual Full of Energy Rally in Veltrusy, Czech Republic. MC group Full of Energy each year throws a huge rally - this year being bigger than the rest! Camping near or on the banks of the Labe river, the nights were filled with motorcycles, rock and roll, and of course, beer While my personal favorite was the wet t-shirt wet short contest, I was unfortunate not to have a camera ...
I had my first weekend rides in nearly a month, and obviously the weather has been keeping most of the other bikers off the roads too, because today there were bikers galore. Yesterday I decided to attend the funeral of Paul Kenny, in Masterton. I went to school with him and he was Harley rider who came to grief whilst returning from from the Cold Duck Rally. It was a very big turnout to send him off and quite a nice touch when the 20+ Harley Riders provided a Side-Carriage Hearse ...
Do a little dance..... YEAH BABY.........:Bye Bye Bye to the Yellow The 6R Dissected for AA Lower Hutt 1. Allow more time than the recommended 30 minutes to complete the paperwork before hand, as they are usually running late. And murphy's law says that the customer in front of you will be the difficult one, that takes more time than anyone else..... 2. Book your test online, it saves lots of time...... 3. Relax ...
After getting the front tyre checked this week, it turned out that it was slightly damaged but as I don't have any marathon rides planned, we just fitted a tube and will contine to monitor it. We had the Ambulance Charity ride on ANZAC day this week. There was about 50 bikes turned up and we rode from Maidstone Park, over Haywards to Plimmerton, then down SH1 to Murphy Street and the Ambulance depot on the corner of Hobson St and Thorndon Quay. I rode as TEC and arrived ...
We had a busy week trying to sort out some year-end accounts, working all Saturday on them, and today I was planning to go to work to do some catching-up there but instead, we decided to go over to the Wairarapa to pick-up a new car for the business. I had to go to work first to sort out a couple of things and Nanny Ann was to meet me there so I got ready and departed. I struggled getting the bike out of the garage and was heading down the drive before I realised something was wrong ...
I've hardly been on the bike over the last three weeks, since the Mini's Return. I guess it was such a good ride, everything else seems to pale in insignificance, but I suppose I'm getting over it because this week I rode to Rotorua and back as I had an AGM/conference to attend and it was an opportunity to include a ride as well as visit the kids and Moko'. I was scheduled to get away from work around lunchtime on Wednesday and it wasn't looking too pleasant when a front came through ...
