General Bike Ravings

I wanted to travel from Haumoana (outside Napier) to Palmerston Nth. A easy 2 hour trip. I have done this trip a multitude of multitude of times. There was many options of how to travel, but in my wisdom I decided to take my 65 Pan. As I had plans to ride on her to Waihi Beach to see Blacklistt and Devilskin (and one more band that escapes me) on 22 Dec I concluded that this would be a good presidents run...

I thought I was sitting in the pits at Paeroa it was so hot at Hampton Downs. It was a real scorcher, especially sitting around in bike leathers.

Friday was really hectic. I had to change the oil and filter, get everything back on the bike as I'd pulled all the fairings and some other bits and pieces off while sorting out the quick shifter and shift lights and a couple of other bits, give it a wash and polish, change some of the stickers cos I'd put them on ...

That time of year again so let's have BBQ.....nah!!! We had a slow ride and subsidised meal at the PWMC (Petone Working Mens Club) instead. I guess one could say, “the Christmas BBQ you have when you're not actually BBQ'ing!”

The Christmas BBQ is normally held at Kaitoki....which is somewhere near Rivendel, and we slip down to the somewhat tranquil setting for a feed. But last year we managed to combine a BBQ with a slow handling event at Karori West School. On enquiry, we learnt ...

Another great weekend with another Muscular Dystrophy Ride done and dusted. I wasn’t sure if I’d make it last week because Ann came back from Melbourne on Sunday night with a rather nasty Gastro Bug, but fortunately, apart from a slightly queezy stomach (from the thought of catching it) I made it through the week and managed to escape on Friday morning (with nothing more than the odd fart...or two).

Once again this year, the trip started for me at the beginning of November ...

A weekend riding bikes is a good weekend, especially when the bike looks so good!!

Friday I got an early start as I had lots to do on the bike. I ended up spending the entire day tidying up and finishing off a whole bunch of things on the bike. Little things like a seat pad (painted fibreglass is really slippery), bolting the brake disk onto the spare rear wheel, final cut and polish so the new paintwork doesn't get damaged, go to the supermarket and get supplies for ...

The major stickers are on. Now they're in place I can have a look to see where I want to put some others. But that's next week. This weekend I get to ride it
