General Bike Ravings

I'm buying a secondhand engine for my 83 GN and was wondering if anyone knew whether or not a 2007 engine would bolt straight in or any engine for that matter. Are all GNs the same in that respect? A mate and I will be doing it ourselves and don't have the necessary tools to customize the frame. Any help on this would be great cheers

An alarm at 0730… man I could have slept another couple of hours but it’s not an option if I want to do more adventure riding. This time I packed everything up, chucked the panniers back on the bike, returned the key and headed into Taupo to re-fill the tank and have a quick breakfast. There was no cute chickie smashing her car into the pole this time (I reckon the 2 pumps are perfect for bikers) but an older guy in his nice shiny Merc was keen to give it a go.

This week Gremlin had some work to do in Welly so he and GIJoe ventured south and took the opportunity to visit, GIJoe for one night and the G-Man for two...it was great to catch-up, although the long night and all the yakking on Thursday night meant for a rather long day at work on Friday!

Looks like there is going to be a massive Hikoi at Parliament with plenty of Maori folk, highly pissed off at the sale of the Crafar dairy farms to the Chinese.

Interested in peoples opinion here. What's your thoughts? Anybody planning on supporting this Hikoi?
Anybody switching their support from National at the next election?

The ride had technically begun shortly after 9pm the previous evening, after finishing work and heading home to pack. A quick dinner, packing (really should have done it the previous night, to give me some extra time) and I was heading out of Auckland shortly after 9pm with an ETA of 0015. I got a real surprise while still passing through suburbia to see a guy in a camera van hunched over his equipment, with my lights showing every little detail.

Well, I've got it in the shed now so it's 100% mine and I can tell everyone about it

Some people may recognize this bike as it was always at the track a few years back. It's owner is also well known cos he's a good bugger, but unfortunately, is better known for an accident at Pukekohe that left him in a wheel chair.

Now that I've finally taken the exhaust and radiator off it's very obvious that the huge gash in the front of the block wasn't the cam chain, it was a conrod.

Should've known but the noise I heard after the bang tinkle tinkle tinkle sounded distinctly like a chain being dragged across something.
