General Bike Ravings

Biker culture, politics and general issues.

  1. Home Sweet Home

Well, it sure is good to be back. I got a final bit of work out of the way on the bike (with the help of my two boys who were just as keen to start it up as I was...

Bit of an anti climax though as the battery was pretty tuckered before I parked it up for two months, so was totally tuckered when I went to start it...boys thought it was pretty to jump start off the Surf though.

So here's a couple of pics from my ride up Altimarlock (Awatere Valley, Marlborough) two hour ...

    Great tip
When getting on your bike turn the wheel away from you - tis easier to get on (I must've looked like a right novice)

Ok my first go on the motorway (Got on at Highbrook & off at Ellerslie) this weekend and with thanks to Paul on his 1200 Bandit for helping boost my confidence. It was a simple task ...

Woke up to some fantastic weather, clear blue skies and the kind of start to a ride you mostly dream about in this part of Europe, Spent a bit longer than anticipated cramming as much as we possibly could in to the new luggage, struggled down four flights of stairs in leathers and loaded the bike – already too hot to think about much else than getting going, or at least I was, Lenka had

First Ride went without a hitch (oh unless one stall is a hitch). Pottered around the streets in the Eastern Burbs on Sunday morning - (Doesn't Time fly when you is having fun), went out around 11.15 after the showers & did a few stops n' starts then I thought I must see how much fuel I have so went to the Shell Station to fill up & zero the clock, this is where the stall took place when I stopped at the pump furthest away from anyone who may spot that this is the first time he's used a ...
  6. Cape Reinga Cruise - 12 June 2010

It had been quite a stressful week. I had been checking the Metservice weather reports regularly, hoping for some good news in the 7 and 3 day forecasts – hoping that somehow, the weather reports were wrong. By Friday, I had resigned myself to a wet weekend hoping that we would get a few breaks in the weather when we really needed it.

As we woke on Saturday morning the day promised a lot and we hoped for the best. We met at the Caltex at Fanshawe Street and huddled under the canopy ...

  8. Must be getting soft

Today I went and ordered an Oxford Bone Dry one piece Rain suit from TSS which will arrive tomorrow.

The sad thing was that I needed a 3XL and now one in Wellington had them in my petite size

Looked on line everywhere and by the time I paid postage etc it was cheaper to buy direct from TSS. Great bunch of guys in their ...
