So, I have a new helmet! First one in three years, in fact. Picked it up from Colemans Suzuki this morning, and boy does it feel good! There really is nothing like that new helmet feel, and the intense clarity of a brand new scratch-free visor. I remember the first time I experienced one of those. 17 years old, setting off on a three week South Island trip as a pillion. The day before Christmas I realised the visor of the helmet I had been wearing was really not conducive to taking it he panorama ...
I'm really keen on the Redline Track day on Thursday. I took her out for a bit of a scoot again and I'm really starting to get excited after riding her a little. The day started out a little late cos I couldn't be arsed getting out of bed. Probably had something to do with Nick, Brooke and Simon turning up on the doorstep at 10:30pm on Friday night with plenty of booze. I climbed into the Vodka while Brooke attacked the 2 bottles of red he bought for us (but I wasn't keen on it cos ...
I am trying to find companies that freight (air or sea) motorbikes from NZ to either US of A or Turkey. I have googled around, but apart from ATF, who said that they were finding it difficult to fnd freight forwarders at the US end prepared to handle bike clearance at the US because of "hassles", I can't seem to fnd anyone else. Does anyone here have experience in dealing with (NZ ?) companies freighting bikes overseas?
This week heralded the first ‘Annual’ Apiti Scamper….although it’s not so much a scamper as a dawdle, thanks to the multitude of Harleys that wanted to partake….but that’s a good thing as this was a charity ride to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House and Motorcycle charity events are only ever successful if the Harley riders get behind it, as they provide the numbers. Personally, Charity Runs aren’t my favoured type of ride but I don’t mind fronting if it’s a good cause and in this ...
My brother has a lovely Norton Commando, 72 I think. Anyway the bike had a recent oil change however between draining the old oil and refilling, several days had gone by. Now the oil return line sputters a little oil and a lot of air when the engine ticks over. Also, the filter was replaced, he is rechecking the unit to ensure it is the correct one. We suspect there is an airlock in the oil system somewhere. Any suggestions on how to get the old girl to pump oil again? Thanks.
Its been hellishly cold here for a few months so have decided I needed to think about something other than the harsh winter and lack of bike or riding weather - so I am sitting here in Prague planning on touring Europe in late May for several weeks. The first thing is the bike (which is to be purchased) and am leaning towards and FJR1300/GTR1400/ST1300 or similar at this stage as I will have the wife on the back. The rough plan is to head south from Czech Republic crossing a few borders meandering ...
The Catch up Coffee run Well because I ended up doing this run on my own, the goal was to do this run in 2 days... My route would take me through some of the most amazing motorcycling roads in the North Island, the run would be about the riding and not so much about sight seeing. The morning broke fine the star fill sky filled with the promise of a great start to the day.... Honored and lucky enough to live in the Waikato, I was witness ...
