General Bike Ravings

Well as I find myself unwinding from the stresses of another teaching year, I noticed my milage has alarmingly decreased from what I am wont to do! Now, this just won't do gentle reader. No, it just won't do at all.

I shall put this to rights by making my usual (dis)concerted efforts into exploring the high ways, the by ways, the low ways and any ways of our fair lands. Suffice to say, I shall ride as much as I can frikk'n do!

So Thursday night I cruised around to Brent's place so that we could continue putting Trini back together.

I shot home from work, having bailed from the buildings Christmas bbq before I got snotted (it was hot and the beer was free and there's some cute chicks that work in this building). I just grabbed some long pants, socks etc because it'd get cold later on and I always end up being a smorgasboard for the local Mosquitos. Week 1 and I thought that Gill would pussy out on us because to was quite windy and overcast, but she didn't. Good on her too! The ride destination was Gill's choice and she decided to head to Paekakariki via Airley Rd in Plimmerton.

My best riding buddy & I get out & ride whenever we can. Together we have ridden many 1000's of kilometres and on quite a few occasions his wife Gill has pillioned . About 12 months ago she got her learners license and then got cold feet with the whole process. She is keen to ride but has struggled to get some mileage under her belt, and has not ridden since May 2009.

My pride and joy was useing oil like drinking it. After only 2 race meetings my CBR1000RR used 1.7ltr of oil!! I read up on Spectro Oils and decided to run it on a full mineral oil and after 3 race meetings running in both Clubmans & F1 I changed the oil I rode 2585km incl training and used only 0.145ml off oil Stunning result!!!!
I have now gone to Spectro Gold Synthetic and will see how that performs.
I would strongly reccomend Spectro oil to anyone.

The parts arrived

I was expecting them to take 3 weeks but it only took 2 so I'm happy with that.

Took them around to Brent's place along with some gasket paper and I spent an evening cutting out gaskets and occasionally holding things while Brent started reassembling the engine. We only did a couple of hours work but we got the piston reattached to the crank and the clutch reassembled and put back in (very easy to fark that up).
