Biker culture, politics and general issues.
So, it's been a while since I was on a bike regularly (like a year) so it was time to get the finger out and find myself another bike (my last one was stolen by scum). I'd been watching trademe for quite a while and this bike had come up about 3 months ago. I seriously considered it then but it sold to someone else. About 3 weeks ago it suddenly reappeared on trademe, this time as a non-runner because it'd dropped a valve and destroyed the right outside cylinder. I thought even more ...

I have a bone to pick with a certain group of Motor X riders. I was at Woodend beach motor camp on Saturday visiting my parents where we had a birthday party for my wee 1 year old girl. The other kids were running about having fun and such.... as kids do! Next thing we hear a massive loud noise coming from off road bikes coming down the track that runs along the camp.......Shit here they are again! these bikers were traveling at huge speeds, probably about 5 of them. They rip up the track and have ...
Problems with the charging system on the Triumph Daytona 955i and Speed Triples 2002 onwards. I ended up after 3 weeks of owning my bike (with 9000kms) that the rectifier shit itself. Luckily I brought the bike from a shop who then replaced (FOC) with a new rectifier and battery as that was also toast. Once my bike was back from the shop it was happily starting with no issues…Until winter set in!!! I hadn’t been told about having to cold start the bike (ie prime ...
Yesterday I had the best day riding at Kaitoke, running a second and first in the points races. I ran a rear slick for the first time, which what I needed to step it up. My gear changer is knackered and I could have run the rear tyre with little more pressure or it's not going to last. I am now really looking forward to seeing what the new engine's performance will be like. It was also great to see Wanisami (my RG50 bucket) out again. I'm about to swap out it's engine ...
Hi guys and gals! I am a newbie at all this so hopefully it gets read! lol I have recently bought my first bike bigger than 250cc, a 2004 Suzuki GSF1200S Bandit! - my pride and joy! I live in Christchurch and I'm looking for a few people who are keen on goin for rides here and there, especially after work during the weekday. We are coming into daylight savings and is a perfect time to make the most of those late sun sets. Not keen on BIG groups so want to keep it small. If your keen to meet ...
Well last week a guy at work mentioned he wanted an 'as new' original tail section to replace the tail tidy on his GSF1250... It just happened that I was looking for a tail tidy for my GSF650. Long story short we paired the bikes up in the work garage at lunch time, with rulers and sharp eyes we measured and compared the bikes. A as fate would have it there are no physical components that are different including the frame and sub structure that would have ...
It was a great day for a ride and I got to get out for a blast. Off to Mokau I went. Imagine if you will, past Waitara long dry roads, light traffic, and long sweeping corners. Up and over a wee hill called Mt Messenger, over for a coffee in Mokau and back. Me and the bike in tune, riding your ride etc…….. On the way back, riding “my ride” a BMW X5 (SUV for non car fans) I spy coming on fast from the rear. Let him go I think to myself, as he blasts past doing what, ...
