Sport/Road Bikes

This blog is going to be a history of my time with the S4.
But first a bit about me which will go some way to explain why a supposedly intelligent bloke would own a Ducati of any sort.

There was a POM who came to New Zealand via South Africa.
In serendipitous circumstances a 49 year old POM, software developer managed to get an invite from the only country in the world that would accept aging POMs.
Australia, which had been the country of my dreams since I was 19, had long since closed the door. A subsequent holiday to Maloolabaa destroyed the dream.

Fast forward to 2001 and finally I got my full bike license, after riding (since I was 16) on a learner ...

A lovely ride to the mountain city of Liberec.



The sun is finally out and we are enjoying riding around when we can. The other day we went up to Liberec to visit a friend of mine who used to live in Prague. We were running late and were in a hurry to get there, so we took the freeway up - NOT fun! But at least I realized that I will need a windshield for our trip to Scandinavia, we are planning ...

so the streetfighter is starting to gain some momentum..i have secured a headlight (the actual one i wanted too, mint!) and mocked up a tail..
anyone wanna buy a k4/k5 gsxr600 headlight? its in excellent condition..$150 would do.:-)
so anyway. heres the photochop, yes i'm using sully's bike as i have the same bike plus i'm using a k7 gsxr600 headlight..:-) but i will be retaining the standard wheels and leaving the frame as is, if i get real bored i may end up polishing it.

I have a idea.....
Has anyone, or does anybody know of anyone, who has successfly put a 12a or a 13b mazda rotary into a sportsbike??
I'm not talking about a Norton 588cc or anything like that (which I must say, at this time, is my dream bike) I'm thinking a 1200cc or 1300cc, maybe even bridgeport or turbo or both.
We all know of V8s ending up in choppers, which is cool if you're into things like that, but we're here on this site looking up sport/road bikes, and ...

i don't have enough money but i see a BEAUTIFUL project here..i know i'm gonna step on some toes here with a certain group but i'm sure someone else will see just how potentially excellent this could be..

When this run was advertised in Feb/March 07, I, like many, thought it would be a good way to kill a few K’s, however, I did nothing at the time and although my intentions to participate fluctuated, my interest in the event never faltered and I keenly kept an eye on any info about it…..That is until Malcolm (Jantar), posted on KiwiBiker that he needed to sell his entry due to health problems. i'm tearing my old girl down and making her into a rough-as-guts streetfighter, codenamed 'widow-maker'..all of you who know about the history of tl-s' will understand!
