All Ican say is Stay positive, and good thing they found it now and not later! All the best.
Sometimes even good luck can be a challenge, best of luck for getting it all sorted! Cheers, John.
On one hand... "bugger", and on the other "good news that it was found early and not later!". Positive thoughts your way.
Sorry to read about that. You do seem to have the right attitude. If you want to read a motorcycling book about a guy who bounces back from serious illness check out "What A Good Do" by James Whitham. I was planning on writing a review but hadn't got round to it yet. It is only a week or so since I finished it though... All the best
Enjoyable birthday weekend indeed, spent with newmade friends...Long may it last. Ducatigirl
Stay positive and best of luck...
You'll be mint az, miss. Only one thing to remember, is how much of a milestone this will be for you, and that you will look back on it forever, so make sure you enjoy it on the day. Think that warm fuzzy feeling you are going to get once you pass it!
Good luck I am just thinking about booking in for mine... Maybe next week :-)
It will be all good, you will 'pass,' think only on the positive side sleep well the night before.
Hey there, good luck. I did my restricted last Tuesday, it was pretty straight forward. I'm sure you'll be sweet...
Awesome news PB.... are you guys free on the 1st May for the protest ride 10am Papakura Autobahn to the domain?
I like that I does ,,,very good and really mean that , been in this game for a while and not often does something make me go oooooooh Good show the bike will look good Stephen
I've lost all my images, avatars do not show, icons etc. Anyway any ideas on how to get them back? If not how do I reset with a new KB ID? I D I'd like to keep my current ID if possible. I still have no figured out this R rated thing. I was trying to work it out when a family photo downloaded and I deleted that and in the process deleted all images. Skyryder
Like the story. You should consider going along to SASS - free motorcycle skill lessons in your area. It'll build your confidence and allow you to enjoy riding even more. http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/wiki/Sout..._Street_Skills
Yella MonstA - now theres a gerat bike!! Go Kelly - you got great taste. Nice blog StoneY
Rode the " Whanganui River Road " early March, awesome views great road until hitting the gravel. This started sth of Jeresulam & lasted most of the way to Pipiriki then there was a mix of sealed unsealed for @ 12-13kms then sealed into Raetihi... I don't think I'd do it again on the Blackbird ( temp was getting up there !! ) but certainly worth the ride with great weather to boot
Sounds like you had a good ride and weekend.. I know how it can feel, as I did a ride to Edgecumbe on my Ninja 250, on my own, and loved it.. That was over a weekend also.

I'm not trying to say the bulb popped on your ride home...but it could've. Both of those issues Steve offered to correct if you'd taken up his offer of bringing the bike back in. The brake lever..."Adjust as required". So if they don't need adjustment...they don't get adjusted. The chain...the chain was checked, lubed and adjusted. They require more than 15-20mm slack. The tightest point during swingarm movement is when the swingarm is parallel to the ground. This is how we adjust them. If a chain is too tight...it will do serious damage to the transmission brgs etc. Cluncking when put into gear? Quite normal...some bikes make more noise that others. The tyres? I personally saw your tyres...and they were totally stuffed! The rear was flat as in the centre, and the front had worn the shoulders off it badly. This causes bikes to handle badly...to the point they become dangerous. Yes...by the letter of the law they're still warrantable...but that does not mean they're not worn out or shouldn't be replaced. It is YOUR safety we're looking out for when we say the should be replaced! I doubt very much the man at VTNZ rides bikes if his opinion differs. - Yes mistakes can be made...but we did at least offer to put it right. Hope you have better luck in the future. Pete I got to agree, you should take the bike back and get them to put it right. They did offer! (and you've already paid for it) All of the above make's logical sense and mistakes happen (a comment on the faulty switch would have been a good heads up). Mate we have all been there at one point or another, it's a matter of learning from our mistakes. How many times have I read on KB about guys riding home with rear tires splatted with chain lube, or incorrect tire pressures after a bike service, it only takes you a second to ask a question before riding your bike home on potently lethal tires... I know I would have been pissed had they failed me, then I would have been forced to get another set before legally being able to ride home and thats another $400+ You've had your rant
Hey, nice read, thank you. Bloody trucks and the government in looking at putting bigger ones on the road, biker beware. think I'd wet my pants in this situation, glad you are having that beer.
I had a similar truck in wrong place situation. Came round corner from railway underpass near Tirau to find milk tanker broken down in my lane. Car in front of me swerved to miss but there was a car with trailer coming other way. I hit the brakes expecting cars and trailer and tanker to swap bits of metal and then clock me in aftermath but somehow we all missed each other. Miracles do happen, they really do! Mind you I had to stop in the town to rest up a bit and get my heart rate back down to 200 before going on.
