Ya poor thing I recommend you have a bit more today to make sure you got enough fluids yesterday evening. Your bike should not suffer from such ailments as wetness in leads etc , have the mec an ic check it thoroughly next service.Carry that can everywhere form now on though aye. That way you'll never need another one again! . Hope you are recovered.
They are dry sump, and the return pump usually has twice the capacity of the feed pump.So it will always be sucking air. That's perfectly normal - rev it up and you should see more oil and less air,but it will always have air in the return line.If it hasn't then there is too much oil in the crankcase. Put this in the main forum under Classic bikes or engine/trans and you will get a better response.
yeah the Gladius was one of my first choices but then sat on the Suzuki 650s lol I have the luxury of time ,3mnths till get my full so will be sittin on and riding as many as I can I suppose.
Take care enjoyed reading your blogs..So much fun so little time !!
Have you thought about the new Triumph Bonneville that has smaller wheels and a lowered seat? Or, Suzuki Gladius, if you prefer sporty? - not sure of the height on those things though, but seem popular with the ladies.
The Suzuki 650 gets very good write-ups both by owners and in reviews. Know one lady with a Hyosung 650 and very happy with it. Sit on both & see if you can test ride them. Then go with your own feelings. You won't make a mistake. Have fun looking. Cheers :-)
I wasn't wanting to talk to club officials, just MNZ members who race and get their opinions on how they feel about having scheduled club events for the 22/23 May turning to shit because MNZ changes the AGM date . Not exactly club policies or financial statements is it. Bit short sighted to just disregard the thoughts of members whose big meetings coming up are jeopardized by decisions like this. Yer right, I dont like some of the shit that appears on a RACING forum, whats questioning a members sexuality, or surmising about their riding skills and their private lives got to do with RACING, or anybody else, for that matter. And where did I mention not liking the people frequenting....?
If you want reliability, Japanese bikes are generally easier to live with than other bikes (Korean, European). And if you can't sit on it, don't force it.
Sorry we didn't bump into each other but don't forget the Coromandel, will you? All the very best, Geoff
Man! Am I envious - our dream is to do what you are now planning. Looking forward to reading your blog on your return.
Great read Trotsky, Kathy and I look forward to riding with you and Hellen soon
Great read Cliff - even for the 2nd time. Our East coast ride was done at a more sedate pace but I'm impressed with the distance you covered. Lets catc up for ride soon.
Go the lil' ol'hornet!
Was great to meet you guys in Methven
Hey Rob, nice write up mate, brought the memories of the trip I did last year flooding back. I'm gutted I couldn't make it around, as for my wee Harley, I rode it back to Hamz, turned out to be a small split in one of the oil lines... all sorted. Hope to catch up with you and Helen on a ride sometime soon.
We recently stayed here http://www.holidayhouses.co.nz/properties/9998.asp Was a great place to stay and very quiet and secure. We used it as a base to explore the peninsula on our adv bikes. Very reasonable rates and the hosts gave us free snapper to cook up at night and some smoked fish.
Dad and I want to do it on our M50's later this year or early next year, I see now our plan of a week is not enough. Great read.
wow sounds like you all had an awesome time, im jealous
Great read - I did my trip last year by myself... sounds like group dynamics are challenging sometimes ;-) it was great that you guys were able to do the group thing AND do your own thing too. Cheers mate, see you round.
Well done Rob. Excellent Blog. And yes, we will do more of it. Thanks to you and Helen for your company also. Good memories far outweigh the bad. A trip like that you find out who your real friends are. I wont be doing the 'Blog' thing as you have covered it all very well. Thanks again 'Jimmy'
