Mate, I'm sure I'll be real sore after a race meeting and I won't be able to do anything except sit there, dribbling and typing. Hell, I may have to bump up the character limit on blog posts on here

So he needs a slap for having the gear shift around the wrong way, a slap for the pussy steering damper and a slap for high siding someone elses Ducati. Anythingelse?

Had a thought reading that MT,

I'm guessing Steve has the bike back in road pattern shifiting? If so, slapa him (hope you are reading this Steve). Thats why its hard work shifting it, lifting your leg for that. If its race pattern the hard shift is going into corners when you are sitting upright and it isn't a problem...

It's been three weeks now since my initial surgery, and just recently had my second check up.

My left eye is perfect. My right eye (which was -4) is now -1. It appears a band of dryness has developed over the front of my right eye, which is affecting my vision. -1 is much better that the prior -4 though.

At this stage the surgeon has said my vision in my right hand eye will probably become perfect when the band of dryness has resolved itself, and I have another check up in a month to see how it is progressing.

It'll be the pipe that has knocked the mid range off. No idea if it's fuelling correctly but there aren't any holes so I'm guessing it is. However, the fact that it has been in a shed for a year is where top end horses will escaped. I'm scared to pull the air filter so it'll be dirt coloured.

There's have no problem turning it, just that your ZX6 was better. Not surprised considering Jay had that bike for 2 years and got it working correctly. The main difference was in the pegs/seat/bars relationship.

I'm just surprised it ran so well on Thursday. It literally got pulled out of the shed after sitting in there collecting dust and spiders. The fork oil has got to be 18+ months old, the brake fluid and engine oil is 12 months old, and the shock is most likely out of Nitrogen by now. I'm truly surprised that it ran flawlessly for the day.

Small...feels like a touring bike after the CBR400 mate.

Must be something wrong with your CBR600 as I've ridden a couple and they're 100% got more mid-range meat and should be a lot easier to turn. Brakes and top end on the CBR are not as good tho'

Always interesting to get a shot of other bikes tho!

I'll just skip Clubbies and go straight to F3. Taking little steps has never worked for me. I need to go straight into the deep end and and learn not to drown.

Search for TransPro. You'll find they have a terrible reputation. I suggest you cut your losses, and engage someone else now.

Yup, I remember the burning smell. Took one week before the scar tissue subsided and vision has been perfect ever since (5 years ago). I don't remember any clouding, but that is probably related to the scar tissue.

As well as the vision correction and astigmatism, I had the wave front traetment to get rid of thoseannoying halos around lights at night.

    Would recommend it too.

    Good luck.

Your comment..."Personally, I am still more in favour of simply increasing the existing ACC levy on Petrol. The system already exists. It works well. There would be no additional collection costs. It's hard to invent systems that avoid paying it."

Agreed. There needs to be a universal 'transparent' method. At the end of the day: you're driving a 22 wheeler, a 250, a bicycle, or skiing down the slopes or kicking a ball. You're 8 or 80yrs old. Universally there needs to be a 'cover all'. How that is achieved is the challenge ahead. I do not think it is too difficult from a 'systems' perspective. From a socialogical angle however things will be different. Bureaucracy and Humanity, I am sure we can all sit and present many scenarios, the challenge of course is to try and find middle ground.

Good healthy debate and discussion is always welcome.

I would be happy to consider collecting the ACC levy at the same time as GST - just don't call it GST. I fear that it you combine them both then money will be siphoned off for the wrong purposes (look at the roading tax - collected in the general taxation account and not fully used on roading as a result).

The biggest question in my mind would be would this new collection method support the Woodhouse principle of everyone contributing in the community.

For example, I can see people changing to doing purchasing via a company, so they can claim back their GST.

Thanks for the comment. I looked at PartVI.

Essentially my logic was based on the mechanism underwhich the ACC can be paid, and seeing as GST came into being after ACC, then the GST system would appear to present a good vehicle underwhich funding of ACC could occur.

The procedures underwhich this would occur are not addressed of course. But rather the fact that a system, GST, was introduced, then a more equitable method of funding ACC could therefore result.
